The answer doesn't matter nor does the question, if there is no trust between the speakers. Jim has established this multiple times. Because Butters had lost faith in Harry during Skin Game he lost trust and no answer that Harry gave him could change that.
That is because Butters had no clue as to why Harry was missing in action. In some ways this was made worse by Bob, who had no clue why either but gave Butters the worst possible answers as to why. Considering Bob's history with the Winter Court, or rather Mab, not surprising. Didn't help that Harry beat up his girlfriend though she did attack him as a wolf, and "borrowed" Bob without asking. All he knew was the Fomor were snatching kids and there was nothing he could do about that. That made him bitter against Harry, however that swiftly changed once he understood what was going on. In the beginning of Skin Game Butters had lost faith, but it was back again by the end. Maybe that is why he was given the Sword of Faith? Butters had learned some lessons as well about trust and faith between Cold Days and Skin Game. Harry's deeds brought the trust and faith back, that and seeing the truth with his own eyes.
Harry is also the Warden of Demonreach, like Kemmler was before him (a few places back, I think).
Harry is also a starborn, whatever that actually means. We do know that Drakul is in that small club.
It also doesn't help that Harry didn't show his face around Edinburgh much. There wasn't a human being to balance out the terrifying reputation.
Neither does Rashid, but you don't see him being banished from the Council.
As I said before, don't deeds out way actions? Because he was Warden of Demonreach he was able to save all their asses by spiriting Ethniu away to jail where she can do no more harm.. Doesn't that mitigate anything?
We don't know how large the star born club is, or how small.. Recently they seem to be turning up under every other rock.. If they are born every so many years when this and that are lined up that means there is a bunch, it also doesn't follow that all of them are evil either.
Yeah, but Joe Wizard doesn't know those things. They just know what's been in the rumor mill, and those two things are likely not disseminated.
Again, who's fault is that? It appears that some in the Senior Council are interested in spreading the big lie, and then the question becomes, "why?" Carlos got burnt because he attempted to screw with forbidden fruit, the Winter Lady.. So that bitterness gets transferred to Harry, supposedly one of his best friends? Why? Does Carlos think Harry is getting that and he isn't? Does he think that is unfair, thus everything he has heard about Harry has to have a lot of truth about it?
