Where Did Harry Get Money in Skin Game?

Harry doesn't have any money in Cold Days. He has to borrow a nickle from Molly. Between Cold Days and Skin Game, Harry's stuck on Demonreach. In the flashback chapter towards the end of Skin Game, Harry doesn't have any money to buy a sandwich and beer at Mac's. When he has to pay Grey, he doesn't even have a dollar.

So all this leads to the question, how did Harry buy hamburgers from Burger King and all those fireworks?

Murphy was at the warehouse dealing with the guns when Harry got everything.

If I remember correctly Harry was due back wages once the Wardens became aware of the fact that he was alive. It probably wasn't a huge amount, but at least a couple of hundred dollars.

Also, the Gatekeeper promised to fix the bureaucracy, so maybe Harry got his old pre-Changes savings (what few of them there were) back, too.

  Since he was meeting with Mab and Vadderung, they either picked up the tab or it was on the house.

@Avernite & Just Al: I doubt Harry went by the bank, without id, and got exact change for fireworks and Burger King so that he didn't have a dollar left over for Grey.

@ Mira: No, it was simply put on Harry's tab. No one paid for it.

There's also a difference between "not having cash on hand" versus "being insolvent."  Harry may be able to pay Mac's tab, and other debts, by check.  But how would he get cash?  Not from an ATM... he needs a real bank, with real tellers.  Maybe he had just run out of cash...

I hope nobody expects Jim to write the mundane, story-irrelevant scenes of check-writing and bank-withdrawals!

I thought about checks but I don't think you can buy fast food and fireworks with checks. Harry could have gotten temporary checks from the bank, because he certainly didn't have any.

I'm not worried about Harry paying at Mac's during Skin Game because he didn't. He used credit.

Yeah, but not having anything but the clothes on your back, a pair of cuff links, and friends does mean you don't have a 50.

in cold days, the Gatekeeper told Harry that he would fill out the necessary forms to get Harry's identity reestablished.  Apparently, it was a favor not to be underestimated.      With that, I'm *sure* Harry's monthly pay as a Warden of the White Council resumed.

But I would be prepared to accept another character gave him money. I imagine Michael would have given the money if he had asked.

But wouldn't he have had a dollar after that for Grey? Or was he in different clothes from when he bought the fireworks and hamburgers? If he was in different clothes that would explain it pretty well. He borrows money from Micheal or goes to a bank where the teller knows him. He buys the stuff. A day goes by. He changes clothes. The clothes with the money is still at Murphy's house. I don't recall if he visits Micheal on the last day or not.

This is the sort of thing that bothers me in a story.

Exactly, that is the most sensible and the most obvious answer, I imagine the Council has direct deposit as well.
