I am sorry to hear that, Ren. I hope you find a job soon. Meanwhile, have you tried walking dogs? Also useful text edition (for "normal" things, I am not talking about professional book editing.

There are many horrible sights in the multiverse. Somehow, though, to a soul attuned to the subtle rhythms of a library, there are few worse sights than a hole where a book ought to be. Someone has stolen a book (Terry Pratchett)

It was a nice, lazy day involving Chinese food and a video game arcade.

That is good!

Doctor Who has ended its season, so no episode today. I will miss having one. But it's an RPG day, so looking forward it.

Oh, well. That didn't happen. The DM woke up with a serious back ache and he cancelled. Sometimes we still gather to goof around and play some board game, but today it was really hot and nobody really wanted to leave home unless it was for RPG. So, hopefully we will do it next week.

Instead, I could enjoy a pure lazy day. I hadn't had one in a while (I had stay-at-home days, but I needed to work at least a few hours). Today I had arranged to have it completely free (so RPG) and therefore when RPG was cancelled I had nothing to do.  :)

That is all.

I never really thought Seth MacFarlane was very funny, but I'm all in on The Orville.

Me too! I am looking forward season 2, at the end of the year. But it's not because I think MacFarlane is very funny but because I think the show is quite like ST: The Next Generation. I mean, I watch it not because it's funny but despite it. I like the characters a lot too.

Yeah, for sure.

I love how the show pokes fun at pieces of TNG and also has really strong characters and story lines.  It keeps with the Trek tradition of bringing in philosophical themes that are relevant to the current day.  It's the best work MacFarlane has ever done IMO.

I don't follow him so much. I mean, I've seen several Family Guy episodes and A 1000 ways to die in the West, but I am not an expert. When the Orville was announced I was very, very angry. But the show really surprised me. I certainly enjoyed the first season more than Discovery's.
