Silly question

 Guys, I know, it sounds silly, but I must clarify rolles about armor for game, and I can't find it in book. Can somebody give the page number or chapter at least?
RPG of my dreams: vampires from True Blood, mages from Dresden files, werewolves from Mercy Thompson and fairy from... Hm,I shall think.

When you say rolles, I assume you mean "Rules".

Armour soaks up damage after an attack is successful.

Attack: 4(weapon2) vs defense: 3
The attack hits by a difference of 1
That's 1 damage +2 for weapon rating = 3

So the character takes 3 damage but is wearing a flak jacket with a rating of 2 armour.

Therefore the character only takes 1 damage.

If you want to know about mundane armour, it's on pg.202

So the armour type is equal to the type of damage it's supposed to soak up.

It helps if you think of everything in shifts. Weapon value adds free shifts to any successful attack action.  Key word being successful. On the flip side, armor takes away shifts from any unsuccessful defense action. It only counts when you are actually hit and will help mitigate the amount of damage by a number of shifts equal to the armor rating.
The entire Red Court was taken down by the new Winter Knight? From the lowliest pawn all the way up to the King? *puts on sunglasses* Knight to G7. Check mate.
