Characters from Fandom?
« on: August 06, 2013, 12:39:16 AM »
I figure there has to be one laying around somewhere, but my search skills on this forum are lacking.

One of the things I love to see/do is make up characters from popular culture into a system (What would Batman look like in DFRPG? Superman? Etc).

Troy from Ragnarok has done this as practice at our site, but I was curious if there was one of those threads sitting around somewhere here.

I've (in the back of my mind) am developing a Miami that would fit into my Dresdenverse. I have loved the idea of throwing in Michael Weston (Burn Notice) in there. A very capable mortal and spy isn't so out there of an idea eh? ;)

If such a thread existed, I think it would be in Resources right? Someone correct me if I'm off base.

There is a thread somewhere on this board!  I've seen batman (in various forms), superman, spiderman, the hulk and iron man to name a few.  I couldn't tell you where they're hidden, though.

To find batman, try searching *crafting gadgets* or something to that effect.

Batman(yet another version) and a couple versions of the hulk

Oh LOL. I was just reading through the Alien/Predator sheets and noticed that the Alien is Chest Deep.

Heh. Didn't do that on purpose, believe it or not.

Also: I noticed a new Sponsored Magic on Troy's stat-practice thread. Do you know if Troy wants it to go onto the list/wiki?

I think I have an idea for a statblock for The Bride (from Kill Bill). Where would I put it?

I dunno. Here, maybe?

This board really lacks a comprehensive NPC thread.

This is the Bride. Those Inhuman Powers are what TvTropes calls Charles Atlas Superpowers. She makes attacks at Fantastic (+6) with her Hittori Hanzo sword, a blade that hits Weapon:3 (Weapon:5 with her strength powers). She will smite thee down. Swiftly. Her kickass Athletics comes from her scene against the Crazy 88, as well as how often she could dodge (helped by her Inhuman Speed). She takes beatings. She keeps on coming anyway. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

I haven't seen the movie, so my comments will be a bit limited.

-Does she really need Linguist? She can speak three languages without it.
-No Pain No Gain probably isn't the best idea from an optimization perspective.
-Not sure if Off-Hand Weapons Training is appropriate. If you have that stunt then you'll never voluntarily fight with only one weapon, and I vaguely recall seeing a clip of her using one sword when multiple weapons were available.
-Riposte is a bit of an odd stunt to have when your Athletics defence is better than your Weapons defence. It forces you to take the risk of using a substandard defence if you want a chance to use it.

-She does need Linguist. She's shown speaking Japanese and Chinese, and she implies that she knows Spanish.
-Optimization? Maybe. From the standpoint of the ridiculous amount of punishment she takes? Perfectly appropriate.
-She does fight with two swords at one point, which is where I got that from.
-I'm actually going to switch her Athletics with her Fists. Because she pulls some ridiculous stuff with her bare hands.

Her "Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique" could possibly be modeled as a re-skinned Venomous Claws.

She doesn't need Linguist to speak Japanese and Chinese. She can do that with just her Scholarship.

You don't need a stunt to dual-wield.

And No Pain No Gain probably reduces the amount of punishment she can take by depriving her of a Fate Point.
