Any mention of a publication date or is that still in scheduling hands?

Jim is still writing the book.  Penguin will work out a date when he nears completion.

One of my favorite authors announces a new series, and another one announces a new novel. It's a good day, despite this evil snow.

Also, by coincidence, Pratchett's new novel is named "Raising Steam." Will be interesting to see and contrast how he and Jim each do steampunk.

As I said on the other board, never been that much into steampunk, but I'm betting Cinder Spires will get me into it, the same way Dresden got me into urban fantasy.

Also, seven-figure deal? I knew Jim's a relatively famous author, but to see concrete signs of that... wow.

Edit: Just realized that this is officially my 1000th post. Not sure how to feel about that.  :o

The only down side I see to this is that means it will be that much longer before DF #15 comes out!

That, and now I have two JB books to look forward too!

Well, thats really 13 when you add up the rest of the DF books as well as the 3 Cinder Spires books!

I don't know that it mean that, per se. Jim has always had other projects going on between Dresden books, which is good. Otherwise he would get burnt out on them. No one wants that.

It might not be an issue, it wasn't back when Codex Alera was still going. But even if it is I'm still psyched for this series!

Yep.  Before Jim finished Alera, he was writing two books a year.  When he stopped writing Alera, he started taking over a year to write one book.  Funny, that. :D

Yeah, a multitasking Jim is a happy Jim, apparently. And that's what's realy important. And besides, are we really going to complain about having more things of Jim's to read? Because I know I'm not going to.

He described it once as each different writing world being a rest from the other. I can't speak to that with any personal experience, but it sure seems to work for Jim!
