I just finished Skin Games this morning and I'm about to go back and reread it to find all of Harry and Grey's conversations that were actually encoded Q & A sessions.  But before I do, I figured that I'd see if there's a thread where they're complied already.

I recall discussions about this in the past. Not sure if any were archived or not. Starchild or child of the stars was taken by most people to refer to Harry's power over outsiders.

Had a thought but the level of research to check it out is daunting...

Has it been discussed whether or not Ebenezer McCoy is, or at one time might have been... Black Hat?
Anything that reduces that research load would help.

It is not anything I have ever heard mentioned, actually.  Closest I can think of was that a Black Hat might have been in the long list of things some people thing Malcolm Dresden could have been.

Why doesn't Harry slap on a steel bracelet with spikes that poke his wrist? That way he doesn't have to walk around all the time under the WK mantle. Then he won't feel like ripping apart every girl that bats her eyelashes at him.

Hey, been a while since I've been here, but I'm wondering if a topic exists discussing all the connections between Elaine Mallory and Nimue from the Arthurian legend?

Not a recent one, but you might find Ms Duck's massive post of her theories interesting:  A Badelynge of Quackiness

You'll have to start a new thread if you want to start a new discussion.

Thanks Second Aristh, I'll take a look at it and start a new thread if I can add something.

Is there a thread discussing the similarities of magic?  Specifically whether the type of magic used is a result of tthe element itself vice the result of teaching.  Ex:  Molly is outstanding at creating veils.  Does that mean that she inherited this gift from Charity or is it specific to her alone?

I ask because I've noticed a particular pair that uses the same t type of magic:  Elaine and Thorny.

I cannot recall any thread discussing how particular talents (ie viels, certain elements, etc) are passed.  There have been long ones about how the Magical gift itself is passed, mostly focusing on the whole random vs matrilineally, etc.  We know that there is /something/ specific about a person that affects whcih types of magic they can use; Luccio is the perfect test case for that, but now that you mention it Ive never seen the why/how of that part discussed.  Per WOJ magic talent is in most ways just like any other natural born talent;  it still takes training, a no-talent person can still train decent skill, and a prodigy can still suck without practice, etc.  So my guess would be that it is an odd and inexplicable mix of Nature vs Nurture, just like talent at sports or music.

Still, Id be interesting in seeing that discussion  :)
