First run at a character

Ok, so my mate is still trying to throw together a game but I'm also looking to play online as well.  I've had a good read through the first book and here is my idea I've thrown together for a pure mortal hunter

Name-Joey Drago
High Concept - Playboy Vampire Hunter
Trouble - Deep Scarring

Heir to an Empire
I've been everywhere man

(Last aspect TBA based on game world)

History (And aspects)
Born as the only son of rich entrepreneurial family, Joseph spent his youth in the best of schools distant from his workaholic parents.  From a young age Joseph was groomed to take over his families business down the line.
Half way through his business degree in university, he finally got sick of it all and took off jet setting around the world.  After a couple of years of this, he found himself at a Akab Club in Rome.  As it was getting late (around 4am) he decided to head out.  On his way to the door he saw a few more people doing the same.  It was then he noticed the dark figures in the clubs door way.  They started changing into mutated looking bat things with knees bent the wrong way.  A woman let out a scream as they leaped down in an inhuman way and blood started splattering across the room.  After a few minutes of being completely paralyzed I ran for the bar and dived over looking for somewhere to hide.  Screams and gurgling cries filled the club mixed in with the club beats still playing.
Finally the screams stopped and he panicked.  The creatures growled through the club, sniffing for anything else.  One of the creatures leapt onto the bar and leaned over looking at the only survivor so far.  As it stuck it's head over, it opened it's mouth to reveal rows of teeth.  Joey jumped up running only to have one of the monsters land on him.  It begun tearing into his back pulling shreds of flesh off his back.  He tried to squirm away from it and ended up on his back.  The creature opened it's mouth and lifted it's head in a cry and stopped as a blade sliced through it's head letting it fall in Joey's lap.  A figure in a dark coat stood there, sword in hand watching the thing die.  The other two obviously saw what happened and came straight at the stranger with a roar.  Faster then people should be able to move, the figure threw his sword at one taking it clean through the neck while producing a large calibre pistol and opening up on the other one.  As the bullets hit they exploded into small bursts of flame slowing the monster until it ended up collapsing in pieces.  The figure calmly went and picked up his sword and begun to walk towards the door.  Joey called out to the stranger just before he blacked out.
He woke up later with bandages covering his chest and back in a dark room.  After trying to rise, he was introduced by the stranger who had saved his life.  He spent the next 2 years learning about the brotherhood and hunting monsters.  He trained with swords, knives, guns and unarmed combat.  After his 2 years were up, he was assigned to LA to watch over the area for any signs.
Over time, joey spend his time tracking down and following any strange killings, slowly hunting down anything that would hurt people.

-So this is my idea, I'm a terrible writer and I'm mostly sleep deprived trying to get it all on paper

Let me know your thoughts/ideas and whether this character would be legal.

Actually he seems fine to me with two exceptions. Firstly he seems to have been made with 33 skill points. What power level is he supposed to be? Does he have more skill points that you aren't using for some reason? Does he have less skill points?

Secondly your Trouble aspect is really supposed to be the thing that always gets you into trouble. Your GM should be able to regularly compel it to pull you into the story, to motivate you. How do your scars accomplish this for you?

Honestly though, I would complement you on your grasp of aspects. Not many beginners start out with such well thought out, balanced and colorful aspects. Bravo.

Based on the back story, what sort of trouble would you  put in?

A couple general comments:
 - As a pure mortal, you may want to keep another refresh or two free, or...
 - ...work in some more (relatively) negative aspects for compels. 
 - I agree with Sinker also - your trouble should be something you run into almost every session...if not more often.

Trouble possibilities:
 - What motivates you?  Vengeance?  "Angry Scarred Visage"  Facing your own fear?  "Never Back Down" A desire to protect others?  "Take Scars for Those Who Can't"
 - How are you affected by by your past?  Have you become a child scaring horror of scars?  "Horrifically Scarred Face"  Are the scars something that bother you physically, mentally, or socially?  "Haunted by Scars Past"

You can probably improve on those...what repetitive trope do you see your character being forced into over and over?

Given you high concept I'd try to work in the skills Resources and Rapport.  Given that you are the heir to a big business you should have access to a fairly good amount of cash.  Or your trouble could be My Dad Cut Me Off signifying that you family cut you off for taking off and disappearing for two years.

Having fate available to spend is what a pure mortal is about.  Between refresh and compels, I'd want to have five or more to use per 'situation'.  ;)  Doesn't have to come from refresh of course - in many ways good compel fodder is better.

I've got resources as Superb, I'll put Rapport in as my last 2 points.  I don't wanna be cut off by parents mostly because the last couple of games I've played I've played a drifter with no $$. I thought it'd be nice to play someone where money is no object.

I like changing trouble to "Haunted by Scars past" or "Taking scars for those who can't". What other compels would you put in based on that back story.  I figure day to day would be finding strange murders/abductions and following them up.

And what stunts would you drop for more refresh?

To me, Lush Lifestyle seems pretty redundant when you already have Resources 5.  Unless you really want to start with a yacht.  ;)

I'm not sure where/what "Been There" is so can't comment on it.

Been there is pretty much the travelling portion. Gotta tell you if i was freaking loaded I would travel pretty much everywhere.
Don't know how it'll be a compel though

Not sure I understand - you have an aspect covering travel (I think) - "I've been everywhere man" correct?  That's what would be invoked or compelled.  What does the Been There stunt cover?

I'll comment on your skill structure:

+5 - Weapons, Resources
+4 - Fists, Contacts

Physical Combat skills:
Stress (Endurance): OO
Assuming Armor: 1 (bulletproof vest).
Initiative (Alertness) 1
Attack (Weapons) 5
Attack (Guns) 3
Attack (Fists) 5
Defense (Weapons) 5
Defense (Athletics) 2
Defense (Fists) 4

So, you have a pretty good attack, but the second someone shoots at you, or throws a spell, you are in trouble.  In addition, you don't have any endurance skill, so you don't have much physical stress to soak up the damage.

Social Combat:
Initiative (Empathy) 0
Stress (Presence) OO
Best Attack (Deceit) 1
Defense (Rapport) 0

Not a social character.

Mental Combat:
Defense (discipline) 1
Stress (Conviction) OO

Not great at mental combat (what little there is) either.

Here's my recommendations

+5 - Fists, Resources
+4 - Presence, Contacts
+3 - Guns, Endurance
+2 - Athletics, Burglary, Driving
+1 - Craftmanship, Deceit, Discipline, Alertness, Survival

And then add or make room for the stunts:
Footwork
Armed Arts

So why did I pick presence as the skill to receive a huge bump?
You've been raise all your life as 'somebody', you know how to stand, how to look important.  So you can show up at an expensive hotel looking like you've slept on the street for the last few days and say you need a room, and the staff will say, 'Yes Sir, right away sir."

This changes your physical combat stats to:
Initiative (Alertness) 1
Stress (endurance) OOOO
Attack (Fists + chosen weapons) 5
Attack (Guns) 3
Defense (Fists) 5

And you can occasionally help out in social situations with your high presence skill.
