Hi Folks:
For around a decade, give or take, I had a series of vignettes echoing in the back of my mind that slowly coalesced into a narrative. The problem: I didn't have an ending. After being introduced to Tom's work via
Mean Streets, I realized there were some [read: a crapload of] common elements. About a year ago I begged Tom to take my outline and run with it. Working in intellectual property, I even offered to assign him the copyright and waive all moral rights... anything to learn how the damn thing ended. It was a huge long-shot, not to mention extremely gauche, an imposition, presumptuous, and kind of a dick move generally.
Tom demurred graciously as would you if spammed by a "Hey man I gotsta story wud haz a angel in it too," email and he politely encouraged me to write it myself. A few weeks back, the ending came to me. Touching base with Tom for formatting mechanics (space and a half between lines and 14 point Times New Roman font), I finished the short story. It's very likely the only one I'll ever write.
