Nearly 9400 words in the NaWriNoMo event. Will do a littl more work tonight and see if I can break 10,000 before midnight.

Got 1000+ words last night on my sequel to Murder Ballad for the first time in quite a while--the end of Daylight Savings has really helped my internal clock and I'm suddenly way more alert in the evenings, which is when I do the bulk of my writing.
Also, I re-examined a subplot to the same work (which I cut from the story some time ago but saved for some reason), and was pleased to discover that I have a more or less complete novella on my hands and a short story--both of which will function as independent works with minimal tinkering.

Just a check in. Sounds like everyone is churning out pages! Congrats on all going for the NaWriNoMo marathon.

As for me, the writer's conference continues to fuel my writing muse. I'm spending too much time under the hood trying to edit, but the muse has gotten down right mean if I don't get fresh pages and scenes written. it's a very healthy, balanced relationship* at the moment. :-)

*Wait. Can it be blanced and healthy if I'm referring to myself as two entities? Eeek! Sybil!

Of course it is; getting to the point there one's muse talks that clearly is a rare state of grace, and I hope it lasts.

not a block so much as life and work getting in the way.  Had a certification exam coming, so any free time not spent studying for was a huge guilt trip.  But its over now, so my time is my own until January when I find out if I passed. Why it takes 3 months to find out if you passed a standardized scan-tron test Ill never understand, but one cannot underestimate the power of Bureaucracy.  With Luck come January Ill be a fully licensed engineer!

11,400+ words on my NaWriNoMo attempt this year. I'm trying to frontload my attempt, in case I can't get the time later on in the month (Which is what happened last year.....) So, I'm trying for 2,000 -- 2,500 word/day. So far, so good....

Way to go Quantus, my friend!

On the other hand, I have ripped out several pages. They were too mundane, but beneath there is beauty and worth. Digging is such an essential trait to good writing. Yes, I am remembering the story about the little girl scooping out horse shit from a room filled with it; she is positive that somewhere there is a horse under all that...
