Did another one of the awkward compressy bits in Prequel to Thing I Should Be Working On, Friday, turning two chapters into one; I am not at all sure it worked, think I was too jet-lagged from returning home yet to really be at my best.

I am until August 10 on a summer schedule at the day job which means working only to lunchtime Fridays, which should be good for getting a good run at writing Fri afternoon and evenings.  Two more awkward compressy bits to come, I think, and then the rest ifs a fairly clear pass through and send off, and then I go back to Thing I Should Be Working On.

There's also a potential thing with Thing I Want To Be Working On which is a long shot and which I can't talk about, but which is kind of heartening, as are the couple of very positive beta reports I had on it over the last few weeks.

I finally settled down last night and worked on one short story I'd been neglecting.  Got 860 words added to my 10,000 words, which was good for me, since I've done zilch lately.  Now I need to go back and refine, as I always write what I call quick and dirty, then edit, usually on another day when I'm fresh and new ideas are more likely to pop into my head.

At least my little writing session last night got me motivated again.     And that's a very good thing.

Got a huge section covered last night.  I think it's going to be a get the story down job, then go back and fill in the cracks.

Congratulations!      It's a good feeling, isn't it?

I have yet to write a novel length story, but I will one of these days.  In that case I will likely plan it out better than I do the short ones. 

I know I should work on one story tonight, but there are two lurking behind it that are poking me in the back, pointing out that I've left them high and dry for far too long.  I should, I suppose, go add a little to each of them before they start a mutiny.

Well, my writing plan fell apart last night.  Only got about 600 words written, but I did finish one short story, so that was progress.

I had trouble deciding which story to work on and wound up accomplishing very little.  Hmm...must do better tonight.

Since I was last active I have managed to write two stories that were 50K+ in length.  One is complete the other is not and utterly stuck.  I had planned to do Camp NaNo this month but it is now the 12th and I have 500 words written. 

I need someone to come kick my butt into gear.

Today wasn't so good on the wordcount front for me. I got a late start and have to head to work in about an hour, just not motivated enough right now. Oh well, I suppose everyone has bad days.

I guess I can join in the bad day. 

I couldn't take my laptop to work because of the heat--100%. So no writing. I got some work on my revising of one novel but not as much as I could have for I started getting sleepy, had to do something else.

I may get some done later but Tuesday nights are usually bad for that.
