Ask Iago--Questions and Suggestions
« on: April 20, 2007, 09:40:28 PM »
Is there a place on the board for announcements of things like Priscellie's elevation to mod, or someones being banned? I am always surprised when I read things in threads and I don't know if I have missed the announcement, or if I'm just clueless about where to look for it. I know we have an Announcement section but there are no announcements like this there!  :-\

It's the Announcements board...Pris's* elevation was a stealth move, apparently, as there's been no announcement as yet.

Yeah, Priscellie's promotion didn't get announced because it was sort of a stealthy side-effect of putting her in charge of making sure the news feed for jim-butcher.com is more active than I've been managing to make it, and because I've totally not had time to make any sort of Official Announcement about the promotion.  I figured others would beat me to the punch. :)

In general, we'll try to announce such things as new moderators, new boards, other relevant important "broadcast" things on the Announcements board, as Mr. Finn mentions.

We will NOT however be making much in the way of posts about who's been banned; banning sucks, and I see no call to make a parade out of it by talking about it somewhere prominently (or much at all).

Ok. Fine by me. I just asked about the banning thing because I am one of those posters who goes looking for folks that suddenly disappear.  ;)

It's not hard, Mickey!  Think Priscilla + Ellie.  And no matter how badly you spell it, know that you can't be any worse than Jim's signature in my copy of White Night

I love that signature so much, there are no words.

Are you remembering the img tags, Ghoulfish?  It should look like:
Code: [Select]

Which will appear as:

...mmm, Alan Tudyk.

Did you guys just do some cleaning out of the forums?  I've noticed that the fond seems a little different.  I also noticed that in the Dresden Spoilers section the Questions for Jim section has about half as many pages as it used too.

The transition seems to have gone well too.  It is nice and speedy.

I did not do any such cleaning.  I lack the goggles to see into what might've happened there, too, so... if something's clearly missing, tell me a specific what! :)

I'm sorry, I'm losing my mind (I think).  I must have been thinking of one of the threads in the TV Series.  Or just going plain old nuts.  Hallucinations are a baddddd thing.

A suggestion...as we have many unisex names, a M or F tag, so people can see what sex the poster set themselves as, without going to the profile.

As long as there's the option to not answer the question. Some people choose not to be related to as a gender.
