The new spoiler display sucks!!

So jimbutcheronline has a new looks! I like the new colours, but I don't like the way spoilers are displayed. The earlier method was better. Any opinions??

I vote that the forum revert back to the older display format.

Iago already put in his 2 cents on that. With the hovers anyone with a weak will could "accidentally" roll over it. With the new one you have to make an effort to see spoilers.

I miss the original way where you had to actually highlight the text to get it to show.

Can't be done easily. Old style isn't supported any more (i.e., doesn't install cleanly from the module back end). This was IMO the best replacement module I could find. Apologies.

Oh goodie - I thought I was losing my mind when everything changed.  That or my computer was having some sort of interior decorating fit on me.
Of course having the search bar cutting across my avatar pic at the top of the page is
a bit disconcerting.

I'm sure the search bar can be moved in the home HTML page by shifting it to the left about 150-200 pixels.

The "News:" on the left could be useful in the future if Fred can get it to work.

The little curly " can be removed if Fred can find it on the right CSS file.

The white text trick is decent, but would probably work better with a truly white background.  Eh.   Someone made the point in the other "new site design" thread that the new format will likely change the way we post-- no more spoilertagging a single name or point from a list, or phrase from a sentence!-- and I must say that's probably the case.

Too bad the spoiler display cannot be changed but I suppose we'll get used to it.....

The white spoilers was a nice nice, but if someone quotes it, then the spoiler will become visible.

I've always preferred this style of spoilers.  I didn't like the mouse over one because I often accidentally moused-over.

I like the ones where you have to highlight to read it (any way we can do this instead? hehe). I'm not fond of the one you have to click because it looks bulky - but they're okay.
