Well, there's scene in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, where Sundance can't hit a target unless he's moving ...

Well a good aspect for a character would be "there's never enough ammo" and i think that would be great for a compel here or there. not "you are now out of ammo" but maybe a "your gun is out and you need to spend this round reloading"
Descartes walks into a bar. The bartender says, "Are you having a beer?" Descartes says, "I think not," and ceases to exist.

Never seen the Sundance Kid, but awesome :) So, say, won't take a shot that's too easy. Has to load up on the style points with a trick shot. "Off the wall, wizard's shield, window sill, left eye."

Thanks for the ammo idea too, I'll throw that in as something compellable...

Gun Fu strikes me as more of a stunt than an aspect.  That said, I don't see very many good compels for it, but not all aspects need compels, as long as most of them are balanced you can have one or two that only perform limited functions.

Ditto stunt.

Only compel I can think of is "Are you sure you want to resolve this with words instead of gun play?"

As Joseph Kell says, make him totally reliant on his guns so that he's constantly turning to them for a solution instead of thinking of something more subtle.

For instance, the PC comes up with a clever idea during a conflict like running to a certain zone for a manoeuvre, or turning a switch to activate part of the scenery... whatever :) The GM compels him so that he didn't come up with that idea, convinced that he just needs another round of gunfire to resolve the conflict instead (and as it's a declaration, no-one else can think of it either unless they had already had the idea or if they roll on a relevant skill i.e.  awareness).

The same goes if he meets a bullet-proof bad guy. He's compelled to keep shooting, sure that a bullet right between the eyes can take down anything.

I'd add some descriptor to Gun-Fu if I was going to use it as an Aspect. "Notorious Gun-Fu Expert" or whatever sounds character appropriate offers more varied bonuses and makes compels easier.

Basically if you're Revy from Black Lagoon everyone knows how dangerous you are, so the aspect lets you fight meaner and be scarier when violence is on the table. Conversely, everyone knows how dangerous you are, so if someone goes after you it'll be with a tendency towards very ruthless methods.

i always love "The gun IS my skill list".

use it to solve things with guns that wouldn't otherwise work. also use it to solve things with guns that could have been done MUCH easier with other methods.

such as intimidating a guy off the street with a gun instead of just pretending to be a cop or subtly threatening... someone might report you hustling, a real cop might walk by etc etc.

a hardcore mobster who isn't impressed by you saying your gonna fix his crap. he might sudden be a little worried if you pull a gun and look like you mean it.

i also liked the thing about having to be moving to hit things with a gun. i'd make it more like having to be doing a stunt or some other flashiness or you just won't do it. call it "Gun-fu stylin".

I didn't say that.  I just said it was a compel.

Compelling the same thing all the time is as lame as it is boring.

But Notorious Gun-Fu Expert (maybe "Hitman," "Enforcer," "Assassin," or "Streetfighter" is better than Expert) is way better.  It can also be compelled for complications, specifically your reputation scaring guys you approach peacefully or causing trouble with the police ("We know you are carrying...").  So it could work as a Trouble aspect.
If you have to ask, it probably breaks a Law of Magic.  You're just trying to get the Doom of Damocles.

I second upgrading the Aspect from "Gun Fu" to something more detailed and flavorful. "Notorious Gun Fu Expert" is a great one.

Alternatively
--"The (not so) Ancient and Secret Art of Gun Fu"
--"Be the Bullet"
--"Mentored by an Secret Order of Mystical Tibetan Hitmen"
--"Lucy my .44, and Her Amazing Repertoire"
--"Trick Shot Master Specialist Extraordinaire" (because everyone loves redundancy!)

I kinda love coming up with Aspects. Just a bit.  8)

The compel that comes to my mind is something along the lines of a distinctive style - people recognizing you, emulating you, specifically studying ways to defeat you, stalking you...

Love the tons of ideas here - you guys really came through with some great compels! I got a great laugh out of The Gun IS My Skill List!, I like The Notorious G.U.N. How about an homage to Bruce Lee to put that "gun-fu" feeling across? Something like Guns of Fury, Way of the Gun or.. or... well, y'know. Something along those lines.

I've got one,

"..and then they shot the yankee"

Whenever a villian is waxing poetic about his evil scheme before a fight, roll a compel for gun-fu boy to quick draw and start the action early.

(the name is in reference to a long string of southern jokes about yankees.   the jokes always end in "and then they shot the yankee"

A circus owner walked into a bar to see everyone crowded about a table watching a little show. On the table was an upside down pot and a duck tap dancing on it. The circus owner was so impressed that he offered to buy the duck from its owner. After some wheeling and dealing, they settled for $10,000 for the duck and the pot.

Three days later the circus owner runs back to the bar in anger, "Your duck is a ripoff! I put him on the pot before a whole audience, and he didn't dance a single step!"

"So?" asked the ducks former owner, who then proceeded to shoot the Yankee.

or

3 Yankees walk into a bar.

And then they all get shot.
Only a dumb SOB brings a knife to a gunfight
