Reason Eleventy Frillion and Sixty-Twelve Jim is Awesome:

As I've mentioned before, I'm auctioning off the last three tickets to the dinner to cover any unexpected expenses from running the party, with the surplus going to the charity of Jim's choice.  I asked him which charity he'd prefer, and he chose Books for Boobs. :D  So when you place your bid, you're also helping fight breast cancer!

Hi there,

Yes, you have mentioned before about the auction, everything but how we access placing a bid! I hope it is by something accessible, not like twitter which I never use.

Thanks,

The auctions will go up on eBay in the middle of September.  I'll post info on the forum, Jim's news site, the mailing list, and the @JimAtNYCC10 Twitter account.  You'll have to be living under a rock to miss it!

As a matter of fact, I find reading Jim's books under a rock with a flashlight provides just the right mood for his books!  ;D

thanks for the info!

Not a lot of time left for travel plans, particularly if they involve plane tickets..............any chance of moving the auction up?  :-\

Are there folks who would buy a plane ticket to attend this party?

My partner in crime fundraising is out of town from the 5th to the 12th.  I figure we can launch the auctions on the 14th, ending either on the 21st or 24th.  That leaves over two weeks for folks to make plans.  I suppose I could do the dinner tickets separately, but I think they'd garner more widespread attention alongside the other Project Teddybear and Books for Boobs auctions.

I'm pretty sure I could find one or two other fun things to do in NY in addition to the party.... ;) Now, convincing my husband to let me spend the $, that's another question. But since I didn't get into the signing, here at DragonCon, cause my husband wanted to see a panel which was scheduled right before the signing, I think my husband owes me one.  :-\ (Though, the signing line still would probably have been hopelessly long even without my husband's darn panel....but don't tell him that.)  :-X

I just dropped the bucks on a NY Comicon ticket, even though I'm local I wasn't planning on going as  I have a co-worker that is off that weekend to attend.  I am going to try to make it one day at least to get the books signed that I missed getting at Dragoncon.  At least the Javits center isn't too far off my normal zones.

I've requested that fans not ask for Jim's autograph at the dinner, so if you want to get your books signed, you'll have to attend one of the signings at NYCC.  Hope it works out for you!
