I'm coming from central Connecticut.

Actually not bad. 10-15 minute walk from there. And tourists are far from the only ones who flail for a cab - that mass of humanity REQUIRES you to make yourself very visible just for the cabbies to notice you. I fling an arm out at 45 degrees, hand splayed and bellow, "TAXI!" at the top of my lungs when I see one with its available-for-service light on. Honestly, you might even want to flap a handkerchief around; I've seen that work well. Anything big and visible works as long as the cabbie can see that your face is pointed at them, to tell the truth.

If that's not an argument for lightsaber ownership, I just don't know what is. ;D

Hah...I had that exact same thought.
I'm very curious if you all don't mind answering, where is everyone coming from? I live in NJ, so I jumped at the chance to meet JIm near to home.  I'm new to all this and it's really interesting and exciting to see all of your chat about JIm and past events.
I'm coming from southern CT, bout an hour and a half by train.

But will cabbies stop for someone armed with a lightsaber? Somehow, I doubt Mace Windo (sp?) gets a cab very easily.  ;)

And now I'm wondering if a bright green lightsaber keychain would work.  I have 3 of those.  ;D
