It's on my to-read list.  Just finished book one of Simon R. Green's Secret Histories series, The Man With the Golden Torc, which I liked a lot better than the Nightside series.  So I'll probably end up reading the three other books in that series.  Unless I can find the third Remy Chandler novel.  In which case, that will get priority.  And the rest of the Greywalker series.

Perhaps someone should call the organizing committee and let them know how clammed Jim's last signing was so they have the opportunity to change the room ahead of time if they want to.

I'm taking the train to get in around 1. Soon as I'm checked in at the hotel, I fully expect to camp out for a spot on Friday. No chances taken!

FYI, there are no subway stations really convenient to the Javits; the closest are a bit of a hike if you're not used to walking the city.

My meager hotel finding skills got me a room in Times Square. No matter what, I'm expecting quite a hoof unless I break down and flail like a tourist for a cab, heh.

Actually not bad. 10-15 minute walk from there. And tourists are far from the only ones who flail for a cab - that mass of humanity REQUIRES you to make yourself very visible just for the cabbies to notice you. I fling an arm out at 45 degrees, hand splayed and bellow, "TAXI!" at the top of my lungs when I see one with its available-for-service light on. Honestly, you might even want to flap a handkerchief around; I've seen that work well. Anything big and visible works as long as the cabbie can see that your face is pointed at them, to tell the truth.

I'm very curious if you all don't mind answering, where is everyone coming from? I live in NJ, so I jumped at the chance to meet JIm near to home.  I'm new to all this and it's really interesting and exciting to see all of your chat about JIm and past events.

NJ here, too (Kearny, just across the Belleville Turnpike from North Arlington).
