I dont think tha was true. They are just such cool easy going people that it was just polite of them to let the others speak. But I didn't se them get interupted or anything when they were talking.

side note... I had to work REALLY hard not to gush and geek out, But a mere hour or two before I had to leave for the airport I got to sit down with Jim in the lounge and chat for a few in the bar. (30-45 min)
Then share the shuttle ride to the airport with Shannon and Jim.

They really are some of the kindest people I have met.

You were there too? Huh, we met and didn't realize it.

Thanks, Enj.  Yeah, let's leave unkind remarks about other authors off this board.  Heck, it's possible that the author isn't used to speaking in front of crowds, and didn't mean to be rude.  Panels can be really exciting, both for fans and authors.  Maybe she just got a bit over-excited. :D

I can keep my mouth shut every once and a while. It's possible. I swear!

addition to the fan base though... I do agree that thre were a few times taht the conversations and comments were going and one would jsut barley have stopped speaking when antoher would jump right in and all but cut the other person off. But I think I remember it happening to more of them then just Shannon.

But the vidoe will prove me wrong if I am.

Don't have video for that one, but it was the same author who did it more than once. But you're right, it wasn't just Shannon she cut off, she also did it with Sam Skyes.

Hour long meet and greet Q&A with the butchers.

Fullest this room got the entire weekend.

Last day chilling in the Luange and Jim took time to discuss his writing methods with interested fans.

Sam Skyes.

Sam was Helarious!
He came up and shook my hand before I left for the airport and wished me good luck on my project. I must have been pretty transparent cause I didn't do or say anything in any of the panels he was in. ???

I ran into Sam in the dealers room after the "Hurray you just got published, now what?" panel. His snark was almost as strong as Jim's.

Jim was talking to us about the scene and sequel technique. KW went through StF and highlighed each of the scenes and it's sequel and offered to send us some scans of some of the pages.

Nothing illegal I swear!

I think this thread turned into the rear parking lot of a seedy hotel.  :P

Hmm.  As long as it's only a small number of pages.  Duplication of copyrighted material is sketchy business, but as long as it's kept solidly in the realm of fair use, all is shiny.

Also, that sounds really interesting, and I'd love to see more of what you're talking about. :D

Assuming you are inquiring to the comments about a highlighted copy of strom front being scanned in....

Enj and I were both sitting in the Lounge when the guys in the picture wiht Jim were asking for an explination to some of the technics on his blog. When the subject of scene writing came up (Scene sequel) I made the comment to the guys (and Gal there) that if thye take any one of Jims books, 4 highlighters and follow the processn you can break down the system and formula he uses to build his scenes and write all of his books.

I came up with the idea about six months ago to help myself in learning and did this to a fresh copy of Storm Front.
