Very cool, but why are all these conventions so dang expensive???

Am I reading it incorrectly that admission is $50???  Does this get me into the room where  Jim is appearing/signing?

ok, I'm thankful.

Can anyone give further details about Jim Butcher appearance at this Con so that I at least get there on the right day/time?  It would be close to a 4 hour drive for me to get there, and I'm really not a Buffy fan, so he would be the only reason I would go.

I don't know the details, or if a schedule is finalized (odds are the times for the Q&As, etc aren't set yet, but the days may be). The Moonlight Rising site is:

1.29.07 - IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

First of all, let us say thank you to everyone for all their support of Moonlight Rising, it has made the journey a real pleasure for us.

We have given this a lot of thought, discussion and soul searching, and we feel that in light of recent actions and happenings in the Jossverse fandom that it would be for the best to postpone this year's event till 2008. This will hopefully allow people to deal with the legal ramifications of it, as well as work through their feelings on what happened. We are not canceling, we are merely postponing for a year which will give us time to plan for a better event for everyone involved. Anyone who has a ticket for 2007 or is in the process of paying for a ticket, that will carry over to the next one so don't worry about that. We will have new date for next year within the next few months so please keep checking this site.

Again, thank you for everything and we'll see you soon!

The Moonlight Rising Committee

Does anyone know what they mean about "recent events in Jossverse Fandom"?  Was it the flanvention kerfuffle?

Well, if Moonlight Rising falls through, maybe he'll consider going to Gen Con, in Indianapolis the same weekend.  (If I'm lucky)

Agreed if Jim should be anywhere it is Gencon 35,000 rabid gaming and many many of his fans. I know personally I can name 30 or 40 that will be there. Gencon or Origins (Columbus july 5-8) Are the conventions where Jim should be making apperances.

What about San Diego Comic Con, or DragonCon--any chance that Jim would do either (or both) of these?

Jim will be appearing at Moonlight Rising in Pennsylvania!

Jim is referring to himself in third person these days?

I think Jim should appear anywhere but Moonlight Rising.  I went to that con the first two years it was in existence and, well, it's not very good.  Also there are a LOT of things that should have been done differently (I don't want to get into it on here).  But, yeah.  Let's just say I would worry about him getting paid.
I'm in the book.

Wish he were coming to Shore Leave in July.  And, a second voice for Chicago if only to learn that the University of Chicago is not in Lincoln Park.
