I'd like to hear what the influences are for the way magic works in the series.  Is it totally made up?  Connected with current or past occult practices (there seem to be some similarities to some things I've read)?  RPG magic or magic from novels or folklore?  MUDs?  Comics?  Also, what are the influences for the faith component?  What are Jim's personal beliefs w.r.t. the supernatural?

Bill

I like this suggestion. Maybe just a list of books that Jim says influenced him, even.

definitely some live interviews, maybe a recap of the story arc so far, and where he plans to take the series.

if he has any future plans for other stories other than Codex or the Dresden Files?

I'd just enjoy some semi-regular discussions on various topics and critiques on new stories and how they go down.

For example, I really enjoyed the 'Tavar' angle in Princep's Fury.

It's also possible to do Disscussions about the Growing Cast of Dresdenverse Characters. How they're seen by readers, what we're thinking as a result, blah blah blah.

I don't know... it's really easy to do Podcast Discussions based on Television Episodes, but books SEEM to be more intimidating and harder to wrap one's head around.

Of course, I've honestly given up on any new podcasts, considering the time commitments of most of the players involved, etc. etc.

Oh well, fun while they lasted. It was nice to have a news wrap-up all in one place, but even that has gone by the wayside.

Ooo!  Ooo!! An "Ask Bob" segment. He is a knowledge repository. People could write in and ask what they want to know. But...Bob IS Bob...(anyone heard "Ask Dr. Science?")  Could be fun...or am I being silly?

I get the impression that the Podcasts are DEAD.

So sad.

It's more that they're on extended pause. Both Pris and I are getting absolutely eaten up by our day-jobs, and producing one of these is a pretty serious bite into our otherwise fairly minimal free time.

What help do you need?  I have a fair amount of free time and Pris and I had..well, not DISCUSSED, but more commented that I'd love to help in any way possible.  I have a home recording setup and do voice over here in the Twilight Zone (sunny LA).  I already do occasional help with a Farscape Podcast, and would LOVE to help out with Butcher Block! ;D

Hmm. Haven't actually worked that out.  It's really a podcast oriented on sharing our news items (which Pris remains plugged into for the main site) and glorifying/supporting the fandom ... and I don't feel like I need to be the guy doing that (assuming, of course, that I had the time to).  Will noodle.

If you need, I can always email you my demo.  I'm not trying to be pushy, just trying to help.

How about sending out those first five chapters of TC as podcasts?

That'd be the plan.

First, I do not know how to access podcasts. Help???

It is Ivy's 18th birthday. and Harry is throwing a birthday party for her. Nothing bad happens. It is like a Thanksgiving dinner with the entire Adams family.
