Replying to Post Bug?

Not sure if this has been previously discussed...But, when I post a reply to a thread I get taken back to the main forum page instead of the replied-to post. I keep having to find my way back to the post, because, I guess it's the writer in me, I like to check for any crazy spelling or grammatical errors I might've made. It's a small annoyance, and, yes, I can live with it. Just wondering if this small technical glitch happens to everyone, or if it's just me.

It happens to everyone as far as I know. Try using the preview button if you just want to check for errors.

Heh - shhhh... I don't use it... I do the same thing you were doing, that's how I knew.

In other words, take my advice, I'm not using it anyway! LOL

It's not a bug; it's a setting.  You just need to go into the "Profile" menu, click "Look and Layout Preferences," then make sure the "Return to topics after posting by default." checkbox is selected.

Is true, Priscellie, but the setting still doesn't give the option to go back to the actual thread where one just posted. It's options are to go back to the list of topics in that room or the main forum page. Either way, it still doesn't take Son of Ogre back to check his post where he posted it without searching for it. But thanks!

The "return to topics" thing works fine for me... takes me back to the actual thread, as it should.

Even easier than all that: Depending on your web navigator, you can select what page to go back to by either click-and-holding on the back button (which pops up a list in Safari) or clicking on the little down arrow by the back button (which pops up a list in IE). I do that regularly if I'm that interested.

I was going to say no, and then tested it out just in case. You are right, of course, Goddess. I was going from memory and remembered wrong.

Yes, one setting goes back to the list of threads and one setting goes right back to where you just posted. Sorry.

Wow! I totally missed that. Thanks Priscellie for the tip. And thanks for everybody else's input as well. I just turned on the "return to post" option and I now return to the topic I had just replied to
