possible shelving of the series?

Dragon Con: as relayed on Reddit

Quote
Update on Cinder Spire. Went through divorce during pandemic. He misses the cats. He’s considering setting it aside for a while as working on it traumatizes him. Still has Fenris, but sounds like Kitty got the others. Still has Bru too. He sounded real sad in talking about losing the cats and working on the Spires. Fenris bosses around Bru.

To be honest, I've always had a feeling that it's going to be shelved.
هل أخذت الغاب مثلي منزلاً دون القصور
فتتبعت السواقي وتسلقت الصخور
هل تحممت بعطره وتنشفت بنور
وشربت الفجر خمراً من كؤوس من أثير

Well, good news from the City of Mountain View interview. He will be continueing The Olympian Affair before working on the next Dresden Book and he is already on chapter 24 of it (no idea of how many chapters in total). So it seems we'll be getting the book as the next Butcher work. Looking forward to it!

first one was 69 chapters. We were led to believe it was almost done a year ago.  Sounds like a lot was junked and being redone

I certainly hope he is working on it. I really liked the first book. It had all the charm of Dresden but none of the corny pop culture reference. I don't mind that in Dresden but it's nice to see an alternative.

According to a recent interview (three days old) he did, it's "almost done". So I'd expect it in the first or second quarter of next year, if everything goes well.
