Spells granting Stunts?
« on: July 30, 2010, 06:58:04 PM »
Should it be possible?  Would it use the transformation rules?  Should it just be regarded as taking a Temporary Power?

What do you guys think?

I'd just use them as maneuvers to grant some sort of sticky/multiple tag aspect that would do something similar to the stunt and call it good.  No need to make it overcomplicated.

I think it would be possible through Thaumaturgy.  If you wanted to buff yourself before going into trouble time is the 1st question.  After that just come up with a equation for determining the difficulty something like (stunt cost X 2) +2 so the minimum difficulty you are going to be dealing with for a -1 cost stunt is a 4 shift difficulty, a -2 stunt would be a 6 shift difficulty, and a -3 stunt would be an 8 shift difficulty.  If you find that too simple then increase the multiplier.
A wink, a smile, and a whole lot more!

I'd use the Thaumaturgical Shapeshifting rules (on p. 283) and the Temporary Power rules (on p. 92).

For practical purposes, this would make it Complexity 3-5 plus one Tag or FP per Stunt.
