I agree it's pretty good in breadth so I'm recommending it as a general guide for my players to use. There's a lot of depth missing, though. Stories can be transplanted from city to city pretty well, mixed together and have some themes redone. So more hooks would have been great. I just wish I could help but I'm actually in the burbs. I know more about the more mundane myth and trivia, like how Capone created the Chain O'Lakes to hide bodies and unsaleable stolen goods, or that the Hancock Center has an unstable foundation and they have to keep jacking it up so that it doesn't fall over. Plus the George Stickney House is practically right next door to me, but Mr Stickney apparently was a pretty famous occultist in Chicago so he might be useful for those games too. And who doesn't like a road trip
Anyway this post really has the same amount of depth as the book, I'm sure everyone would like more depth in these stories but that's my point really. I'd really appreciate a bibliography of some sort - some of these stories are kept quiet and it can be hard to even google for them just knowing a few terms.
And then there's stuff you just see by going down there. I took a wrong turn and ended up walking around medical center once.. sheesh, I never seen a hospitals like that before. And doesn't this look like a giant throne?
I swear there's got to be a story behind that.
