Making it the equivalent of a stunt to use Guns skill in melee has its uses.  Like, when you want to take someone out quietly.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Like, the idea isn't that the gun is just as good of a melee weapon as it is a ranged weapon; just that, on those occasions that he didn't want to kill people, Wyatt was able to take them out by coming up behind them and thumping them on the noggin.

Honestly now I'm thinking it's simpler to drop the whole stunt and just make it Weapon:2 as a club.

OK, here's the revised Earp's Colt:
Earp’s Colt [-2]
Description: A Colt Buntline Special, long-barrel Colt .45 revolver, with a plaque in the handle reading, “Wyatt Earp Peacemaker From The Grateful People of Dodge City April 8th 1878”
Musts: You must have an aspect related to your possession of this item.
Skills Affected: Guns, Fists
Effects:
[-0] Purpose. Earp’s Colt seeks to defend law and order
[-0] It Is What It Is. A long-barrel Colt chambered in .45 with extra stopping power. Weapon: 3 projectile, Weapon:2 melee
[-0] Unbreakable. As an Item of Power, this item cannot be broken except with a magical ritual predicated upon perverting its purpose.
[+1] One-Time Discount. Earp’s Colt is distinct, but as a handgun it’s not hard to conceal.
[-1] “No!”: Wyatt Earp was never shot, despite throwing himself into numerous gunfights, including a crossfire that should have had him dead to rights. You have Mythic Toughness, but only against gunfire.
[-1] “Justice is Coming”: Both men and supernatural creatures learned to fear the vengeance of Wyatt Earp. You can declare one creature that has wronged you or committed a heinous crime as the target of your vengeance. Guns attacks with Earp’s Colt against that creature are Weapon:5. The effect lasts until that creature is taken out, your vengeance is otherwise sated, or the scenario ends.
[-1] “And Hell’s Coming With Me!”: The sight of Earp’s Colt has a certain effect on those in the know, even when it’s not pointed at them. You gain +1 to all social rolls (Rapport, Empathy, Deceit, Presence, Intimidation) against those people and creatures that see and recognize Earp’s Colt.

And another pair I came up with:

Ring of the Nibelungs [-1]
Description: A golden ring inlaid with Norse runes
Musts: You must have an aspect justifying your possession of the item
Skills Affected: Lore, Scholarship, Alertness
Effects:
[-0] Purpose. The Ring of the Nibelungs is associated with the Valkyries, and so is linked to fate and its enforcement.
[-0] It Is What It Is. A golden ring
[-0] Unbreakable. As an Item of Power, this item cannot be broken except with a magical ritual predicated upon perverting its purpose.
[+1] One-Time Discount. As a small item, the ring can be hidden, but its powers only take effect when it’s worn on the hand.
[-1] Supernatural Sense: You have a sense of Fate, particularly in regard to fated deaths.
[-1] Knowledge of the Aesir: You gain the ability to read the secret language of Runes, and are granted knowledge that the Valkyrie who first wore the ring had, including secrets known only to the Aesir. Gain+1 to knowledge rolls using Scholarship or Lore relating to Norse Mythology, and +2 relating to the Aesir in particular. As a consequence, the Aesir are also made aware of you.

Goblin Crossbow [-1]
Description: A crossbow made of black wood and odd faerie metal. Weapon:3 ranged attacks.
Musts: You must have an aspect justifying your possession of the item
Skills Affected: Guns, Stealth, Survival
Effects:
[-0] Purpose. The Goblin Crossbow is an artifact of the Wyld Hunt, and seeks to bring down prey.
[-0] It Is What It Is. A crossbow of obviously faerie make.
[-0] Unbreakable. As an Item of Power, this item cannot be broken except with a magical ritual predicated upon perverting its purpose.
[+2] One-Time Discount. It is large, conspicuous, and obviously supernatural in origin.
[-1] Cloak of Shadows: Perception skills are not penalized by darkness, and Stealth is +2 when in the dark.
[-1] Pin Them Down: When Aiming, the aspect cannot be removed while the target is in the zone, and any attempts to leave the zone faces an increased border of 1 so long as you continue to use Gun attacks.
[-1] Hunter’s Mark: When you wound a target using the Goblin Crossbow, you can track it more effectively by instinct as the crossbow seeks to finish what it started. If you inflict a consequence using the crossbow, you gain +2 to Survival or Investigation to track the target until that consequence has healed.

OK, here's the revised Earp's Colt:

Looks good to me.

Ring of the Nibelungs [-1]

Solid.

This seems really narrow. +2 to track anyone you want to track would be a perfectly fair stunt; tracking's not really that common.
