Help! Looking for Connecticut Players

Hi All,

I live in Connecticut and I have never played an RPG before.  I have always wanted to but I have never known where to begin looking for active RPGs in my area.  Could someone please let me know if there are Dresden Files RPGs in Connecticut or where I would be able to find this information at.

EDIT:
Find a gaming store and ask around there.  When I first move to a new city, it's the first place I go to find a group.  Sometimes you can put your name up on a board as "looking for players'.  If there are multiple stores, go to each because they'll have different groups.

If you never RP'd before, and they don't have any Dresden, then find a gaming group and play what they're playing.  You might be able to convince them to try Dresden once you've got your foot in the door.

For a table group, you could look for a local gaming store and ask around. You might not find a Dresden Files group right away, since it is kind of a niche game anyway, but you should be able to find a group to get a taste for RPGs generally.

Good advice above!  Many stores that specialize in (or have a substantive section of) RPG's, also have cork-boards or other forms of "players seeking groups" and "groups seeking players" sign-up.

I've also discovered that Meetup (meetup.com) often has good leads.  It's a website oriented towards creating in-person "meetups" of folks with similar interests.  Photography, programming, bird-watching, hiking... RPG's.    Honestly, it's not the easiest place to find your way into... more than once, I've wondered at how hard it can be to FIND the content you're looking for.  But it's usually there...

Many colleges, both JrCollege and 4year+ institutions, have gaming-clubs (societies, "guilds," what-have-you's); some encourage community outreach/involvement, some simply don't care -- show up and ask to participate!  A few, I've heard, have been forced to be hard-nosed about "students only," but I've never met one in-person.
