Reactive Incite Emotion Block
« on: September 27, 2014, 01:01:05 AM »
Can Incite Emotion be used as a reactive block in social combat? Or can it be used reactively at all?

Maybe I'm not the right person to be answering this question, and usual Rule Zero caveats apply, but no - no it can't. Pretty much the only reactive things in the rules are enchanted items. You can't do a reactive block with a gun, you can't do it with Evocation, and you can't do it with Incite Emotion.

You could, however, use Incite Emotion as a way to concede the social conflict by escalating into an unwise mental one instead...

There is an upgrade under 'incite effect'. That let's you use it reflexively as a defense.  Incite effect is a homebrew that was built off of incite emotion.

The upgrade doesn't give you the +2 for blocks though.  It just lets you use your incite skill as a defense.

No worries dapper, it was just a passing thought if figured I'd ask the board. Be careful about giving me ideas ;)

Taran - I'm aware of Incite effect and it's upgrade but I wasn't sure it could be applied to social combat, I guess it depends on the effect being incited.

Thanks for the opinions guys.

Incite Protective Effect is specifically for physical attacks.

I suppose you could create a social version, though.
