Fred, are you going to have a PDF preorder offer similar to the one you had for SOTC?

City of the Mists is still in the coding stages.  We're currently in a bit of a bad spot, as due to a major meltdown on another MU*, we've lost our only coder, before any of the important code has even been written.  >:(

There will be an official DFRPG MUSH, with coded rules support for running your own one-shots or campaigns in private rooms, as well as a shared public environment (i.e., the latter portion more like a traditional MUSH).

Ack!  The code goddess is coming out of retirement?!?

Anyway, I've no idea what's up with Superautomagic, but City of the Mists is in the coding and building stage at the moment.  We're not likely to match the book system precisely, as Lenny was coming up with some other variations when he was working with us (we're leaving him alone since he's got to concentrate on the paid work.)

*finally gets logged back in after nearly a year* Yes, although we're way behind schedule.

And here I would have thought it would be due to Jim handling all of Chicago in his books, and it would be somewhat dumb to have Big Powerful Harry Dresden able to swoop in and solve any problem instead of the characters.

Well, there's that too, plus I don't think that City of the Mists would work too well for Chi-town.

To prevent affecting Jim's ability to write the books, and protect him from people saying that he stole their ideas.

Ok, I have some details on the signing for tomorrow.  I know this is late notice

1) This is a ticketed event.  Tickets will start being distributed at 10 AM on the day of the signing with purchaee of a copy of White Knight

2) If you have a previously purchased copy bought at Borders, present it, with the reciept, to get a ticket.

3) Jim will be personalizing books with first names only.  The name the book should be autographed to needs to be printed neatly on a post-it note provided by the store.

4) Jim will also be signing copies of his previous books.  However, if you don't have a ticket from purchace of White Knight, he will only be doing this after everyone who HAS purchased White Knight has had their copies signed.

5) The signing line will be formed by color of ticket/book sticker after Jim's discussion.

6) Photography is permitted.

Actually, the Spirit of the Century System Resource Document is available here.

I won't be posting MUX specific rules, such as our Magic Rules, until the game is closer to opening.

Planning to be there.  Black denim duster ( I don't have one in black leather, unfortunately,) and a custom t-shirt.  Purpura'll be there with me, likely in a purple leather jacket and another custom t-shirt.

I've got Spirit of the Century, but the System Resource Document is available at http://www.faterpg.com/dl/.  However, this is still for 2.0.  Currently the only way to get 3.0 is to get Spirit of the Century.

It doesn't even have to be tied into their own background.

Just using that as an example. I mean if one PC decides "I'm going to go work for the Fae/Mob" and turns to a GM and goes "If you want to force my hand due to my connections, go ahead".

Well, that all depends on how they integrate themselves into the storyline/

We're basing it off Fate 3.0, but there will likely be differences from the final Dresden Files game as published.

By different from the game as published, do you mean Rules wise, or just Universe wise (since I know it was said previously that you have your own ideas about Baltimore's supernatural makeup and the like)? I can also imagine that Fate would likely have to be tinkered with to fit the MUSH programming.

System wise.  We're developing the code now, so our Magic System, Advancement, and a few other things will likely be different.

Aah; so players would be moonlighting as a GM for plots that would involve their backstory or something.

It doesn't even have to be tied into their own background.

I'm planning on providing them with GM Tools, and allowing them to run the game, although major plots may require approval by the staff.

I know we definitely will be welcoming them on City of the Mists
