I'd probably make it a scene aspect and then compel it against anyone who stayed in the building too long.

I'm not overly familiar with the Brother's Grimm tale, but after a quick glance at the link you provided I'll give his powers a shot.

Straw into gold could either be a version of the Incite Effect custom power, or Transformation Thaumaturgy.

He's a Sidhe, so I'd throw him some Greater Glamours.

That's really all to me. The dagger thing seems best handled as an Aspect.

http://www.jimbutcheronline.com/bb/index.php/topic,16552.0.html would be the first place I'd look, but after a quick search, I don't see his stat block.

I'm not sure if anyone has taken the time to do his stats with the information we have about him.

For sponsored debt that's attached to powers like the one I posted above, there's no stress track (apparently that was added in the paranet papers.  It's simply compels paid in advance.  This is fairly easy to keep track of.  I suppose you could have a stress track, but that seems complicated.

The only sponsored magic that got a stress track in PP was Soulfire, which given it's source and how it's been modeled in book, makes the most sense.

The main thing that popped into my head when seeing this, was just incite effect (luck), and a relevant aspect for you to compel when you want the "bad luck" to interfere.

Errr not bad luck, but failing on her part.

DFRPG / Re: Possible Crafting Stunt for Homebrew List

This is the stunt that I was going to be allowed by the GM of a game I'm going to be in:

- Sufficiently Advanced Technology (Craftsmanship) -1: Your creations have Armor:2 vs deliberate hexes and are considered 2 steps lower on the hex chart when considering accidental hexing.

I had a huge wall of text I was going to post, but decided to go with the short version. If you want extended version, I can post it as well.

Lane Stenguard is newly inducted Warden who specializes in Plasma Evocation. He uses the 4 states of matter (Plasma, Solid, Liquid, Gas) and Spirit as his paradigm.

His Thaumaturgy specializations include a bit of Crafting and Worldwalking. The most obvious magical gear he wears is an enchanted cuirass that becomes a full suit of armor made from spirit energy when he gets attacked.

He carries a broadsword and is quite skilled in its use. He has access to Soulfire and uses it to "light his sword on fire" and attack with that. His swordsmanship actually matches his skill with magic, and he's a force to be reckoned with when combining the two. He has experience thanks to being a mercenary for a few years, and is the type to shoot first and ask questions later.

His father is an evil prick that sacrificed his family in the name of a demon to gain power. This is why he was granted Soulfire, to counter his Father's Hellfire.

In our world the KotC are busy with only Sanya being active, so Lane has been pushed a few times to help deal with the Fallen.

He's hot headed, slow to trust but fiercely loyal and loves to fight. He's a damn good tactician when it comes to fighting, but his "street smarts" is severely lacking.

Edit: his preferred actual "elements" for standard point and shoot spells are fire and lightning

Edit2: Physical appearance: Lane stands around 6 feet 2 inches. He has shoulder length black hair that's pulled straight back at almost all times. He wears black cargo pants, a black leather jacket, and anything comfortable under his plated cuirass. He wears his sword belt so his sword can be drawn with his left hand, and inside his leather jacket is a holster for a S&W that he carries sometimes. He has dark brown eyes.

Really quick, inhuman recovery is still a -2 power, you just add the catch value when calculating refresh.

DFRPG / Re: Soulfire Power, -1 refresh?
« on: July 31, 2015, 11:20:19 AM »
The initial -3 power gives you 2 stress boxes, a consequence, and the ability to use Soulfire.

Every refresh you invest afterwards gives an extra stress box.

So -4 would give you 3 stress boxes, a consequence, and the ability to use Soulfire.

It's not for me, someone on reddit asked so I threw that together really quick. He wants to imbue things with Faith to make them stronger. I came up with that as a result. I'm just looking for improvements and suggestions about it.

DFRPG / Faith Power Thoughts
« on: July 16, 2015, 12:25:01 AM »
I was toying around with True Faith power ideas to help someone and thought of this. Any recommendations or changes?

Wielder of Faith - (-1) Requires the Righteousness and Holy Touch Powers.
Your Faith is so profound, it's like a physical force. You can bless mundane objects and imbue them with the power of your Faith for a short time.
Pay 1 FP, choose one mundane object, for the remainder of the scene it gains the following powers:
Holy
Holy Aura (this object projects an aura of holy light similar to a Sword of the Cross)
After the scene is over, the object becomes mundane again.

This object is usable by anyone you hand it too that does not have Holy items as a Catch.

What is incite effect?

http://dfrpg-resources.wikispaces.com/Incite+Effect

INCITE EFFECT [-1]
Description: You can do a thing. A special thing that cannot be done by most people. Maybe you can control clouds of smoke, maybe you can inflict fear by shouting. Or maybe you can summon the aid of two thousand invisible squirrels. Whatever.
Skills Affected: Any.
Effects:
Incite Effect. Pick a type of effect and a skill that's related to that type of effect. You can use that skill plus two to perform maneuvers and blocks related to that type of effect against anything you can touch. At the GM's discretion, this may also enable Declarations.
At Range [-1]. You may use Incite Effect on anything within your line of sight.
Incite Limited Effect [+1]. (Requires At Range) Do not add two to your skill when using Incite Effect. This upgrade is not compatible with Incite Physical Effect or Incite Mental Effect.
Incite Physical Effect [-1]. You may use Incite Effect to perform attacks that inflict physical stress. These attacks have a weapon rating of 2. They use the same skill as your maneuvers and blocks, but without the +2 bonus. If you have the At Range upgrade, then targets must use their Endurance to defend against these attacks. If you do not have the At Range upgrade, then targets may use whatever skill they would use against ordinary Fists attacks instead.
Incite Avoidable Physical Effect [-0]. (Requires Incite Physical Effect At Range) The targets of your Incite Physical Effect attacks defend with Athletics.
Incite Mental Effect [-1]. You may use Incite Effect to perform attacks that inflict mental stress. These attacks have a weapon rating of 2. They use the same skill as your maneuvers and blocks, but without the +2 bonus. If you have the At Range upgrade, then targets must use their Discipline to defend against these attacks. If you do not have the At Range upgrade, then targets may use whatever skill they would use against ordinary Fists attacks instead. This upgrade does not allow mind control; characters taken out with it are generally overwhelmed with emotion or driven insane.
Incite Potent Effect [-1]. (Requires Incite Physical Effect or Incite Mental Effect) Attacks that you make with Incite Effect are weapon 4.
Incite Protective Effect [-1]. You may use your the skill that you use for Incite Effect to defend against physical attacks.
Incite Restrictive Effect [-1]. (Requires Incite Physical Effect or Incite Mental Effect) You may use Incite Effect to grapple targets within the range of this Power, using the skill that you use for Incite Effect. Grappling with a physical effect inflicts physical stress, while grappling with a mental effect inflicts mental stress.
Incite Mass Effect [-1]. (Requires Incite Physical Effect or Incite Mental Effect) You may make spray attacks and zone-wide attacks with Incite Effect. If you attack your own zone, then you are affected normally by the attack. Even if you lack the At Range upgrade, targets defend against your zone attacks as though you had it. This upgrade does not affect your ability to maneuver, and no penalty is incurred when attacking a zone with it.
Incite Explosive Effect [+1]. (Requires Incite Mass Effect) You may not make non-zone-wide attacks with Incite Effect.
Incite Selective Effect [-1]. (Requires Incite Mass Effect) You do not harm yourself when attacking your own zone.
Incite Persistent Effect [-1]. (Requires Incite Mass Effect) When attacking a zone with Incite Effect, you may take an accuracy penalty (before rolling) in order to extend the duration of the attack. For each point of accuracy sacrificed this way, the attack is reapplied at the beginning of another exchange. You may take actions to extend this effect as though you were an evoker extending an evocation.
Incite Additional Effect [-1]. You may select another effect to create with this Power. You may also select another skill to use that effect with. If the other upgrades that you have are appropriate for the new effect, you may use them with it. You may also upgrade the new effect separately.
