DFRPG / Whispering forest
« on: April 11, 2014, 02:33:03 AM »
Hi, i got another question.
I want to run a scene in a haunted forest but dont know how to handle the "scare" factor of it. The idea is to the players to cross but not engage in any combat, just be harassed by whispers all the way. I need to know how to apply "fear" into rules.
The ghosts can be use as a scene aspect, compelling the players?

I was compelling the addicted character. So if I compel the consequence, give him a FP, he can turn down the compel by returning the FP? Right?
After that, the consequence is removed like any other? Or, being a vampire power, has to be removed by any other means?
About the first question, english is not my native so I apologize for it. Don`t mind it.

How affects a human? Also, besides that I can tag the consequence for free, I`m not sure how to roleplay it. Last session,  a player gets kissed by a RCV and gets infected. I compel his consequence "Addicted" to block another player from doing spells. Was that right?

Wow...just wow...
I fell kinda stupid now because I've being using only the tip of the iceberg on compels and effects. And probably wrong too. A+ on the combat example and a gigantic thanks for you guys, all of you. Now to work in my writer's block!

My question was how should I create a combat scene. Like A-team vs B-team, simple. The thing is that for some reason I cant come up with a convincing combat sequence. The aspects for example, how do I choose them?. Give me an example of a combat scene.

How do you frame a combat scene? What I need is like the "skeleton" of the scene, so it can be applied to any content you want to use. For example: I frame them like a short investigation/interaction scene and use the actual combat as the easy way out of a situation. But Im having problems to make them believable or at least consistent.

Just one.
PATIENCE
Is not an easy game to handle, but it`ll be rewarding at the end.

I`m having problems in creating a convincing response from the WCV in a tense situation. Since they are not an aggressive type per se, how could they react if they meet the Pc`s in a hospital they run and they`re trying to "rescue" a human from the vamps?
I`m very new at this game and I find this kind of details hard to imagine for some reason. I could use some assistance.
Thanks!
