oh you're such a fangirl ;D

But I have to admit, it would be pretty funny (but then again, I like RDJ in his role of Iron Man becuase he's so arrogant and stuff). I'd actually watch it ;D

Besides, if the Sidhe are the nobles of Fearie, who says that goblins are noble? I mean the Erlking might just not be a noble, but a very powerful fey ruling over the 'commoners' i.e. goblins...

same reason disney always makes them the villain in movies:it allows you to comfortably categorize them without searching for moral ambiguity or exploring the sensitive topic of whether death, suffering and disaster are necessary.
Well, that's basically the reason I like Pratchett: the subverts the trope and then turns that up to eleven. DEATH is doing a job. Just that. But, his hobby (as far as anthropomorphic concepts can have hobbies) is to become more human, or at least study human behaviour, often resulting in funny moments when peopel meet their end, and soon afterwards, death.

mind you, the mavra poetry is smeared over the whole thread, not just page 9 (I thought it was page 9 where it started in this incursion)

Well, I'd say everyone making an effort to create Mavra themed erotic poetry has to some extent made a pilgrimage in your honor  ;D

She was very interested in Ramirez. I think she is an omnivore ;D
I think it's more of a thing of virgins tasting better then those who are not ;) (good luck getting that reference)

Other than Lara devouring Madeline; which was more cannibalistic than anything else, is there proof she swings both ways?  Did I miss a inference or innuendo in one of the books?
well, the whoel thing that the WCV invented girl on girl is hot, and I believe she made quite an entrance the first time we saw her... Though I am not sure for the time being...

into the genre? we allready have Bianca, Lara, and Lea...
Lea I guess falls under the general "ladies of winter screw anything that moves" vibe that seems to be going on... But then again, huddling up for cold nights is an excellent way to stay alive in winter :D

Well, I was more thinking along the lines of Mother Winter revealed. Mab is only 1 aspect of the Morrigan (weirdly enough Maeve, the adversary of the morrigan, is her daughter), maybe mother winter has the other 2...

Oh, and only current worshippers count in power at a given moment. Else stuff gets ridicilous... real fast... It also explains why odin woudl want to take up the mantle of Santa clause and become the king of winter (I mean, that woudl mean consorting with Mab, which is exciting to say the least, never a dull moment) becuase a lot of people (almost the complete western world) believes in Santa in one way or another...

also, does anyone else have the feelign that the lords and gentlemen of Faerie are a lot nicer and reasonable then the ladies? Gruff seems to indicate such sentiments...
I like the way that my professor once described Apollo.  The god of everything the Greeks were really proud of (prophecy, healing, light, civilization, etc.)
Ares was the god of war, but mainly the bad aspects of war.  He was the guy that none of the other Olympians really liked (even his daddy Zeus ;D ).  Athena took over the respectable aspects of war.  Once you get to the Romans, Mars was given more respect
true, however the greatest greek god (and simultaneously the least respected) was Dionysus: God of booze, booty and paaartay! I totally see Molly worshipping him by doing the one woman rave  8)

oeh! I thought of a funny one: The Morrigan, 3 for the price of 1  8)

(and they are rumored to battle Medb a.k.a. Maeve, so the way is clear)

Do you think Mavra is Carmilla, because I always though Carmilla was well, Hot?  That's something that Mavra is definitely not.  Not even in a Nightmare before Christmas or Cemetery Man sort of way.

Well, to be honest, at Bianca's party Mavra is being described as sexy, only when harry uses his Sight he can see the corpselike appearance of her (and not that easy even). So, she does amintain a vanity illusion to look pretty. Though this might just apply as well...

Anyway, I, too, expect to see Loki (but I specualted he's allready in the story under the guise of Johnny Marcone with some mind shenanigans).

I also expect to meet Oberon (if he isn't the Erlking) as a counter to Kringle and I expect to see the other 3 archangels turn up in the books.

i'm not forcing him to change. just to grow as a great author and mystery writer. if we all prove his books too easy to decipher and predict he'll know to step it up a notch.
not to say we've been doing a terribly good job deciphering clues so far...
but then again, the collective mind of the DF community makes those things easier then a person on his or her own. and I think a balance must be maintained where a person on his/her own shuld stay able to do these things.

my goal is to spoil as many of jim's beans as possible to force him into developing his ability to create cryptic clues and ongoing mysteries. nothing like a little motivation to develop talent ;)
Granted, but I like what he is doing now. I only want to satisfy my curiosity a bit (however impossible that is), not force ijm to change completely. Besides, if the clues are too obscure it will seem like retconning, and I'd like slightly more forewarning then just 1 word wich may or indeed may not indicate whatever...  ;)

a little motivation s cool, but don't overdo it  :D
