The True love potion seems kinda cheesy. Devalues the catch for WCVs to at least [+2].
I dunno. True Love has to be given willingly, and can't be magically coerced, right? Besides, if you're willing to do a little research and grave-robbing, acquiring a WCV-bane item isn't difficult. Just dig up the remains of a soldier who jumped onto a grenade for his friends.

To a degree.  There tend to be more female Yang vampires than female Yin vampires.  However, the Jade Court is highly patriarchal and males are a clear majority of both Yin and Yang, especially in roles of authority.  Paradoxically, the very sexist nature of the Court means that in general female Jade Court members tend to be more ruthless, competent and dangerous than their male counterparts.
???

I'm not sure if you know, but Yin = Female Energy (among other things), and Yang = Male Energy (among other things). To quote Wikipedia,
Quote
Yin is characterized as slow, soft, yielding, diffuse, cold, wet, and passive; and is associated with water, earth, the moon, femininity and nighttime.

Yang, by contrast, is fast, hard, solid, focused, hot, dry, and aggressive; and is associated with fire, sky, the sun, masculinity and daytime.

So, if they diverge based on Yin and Yang energies, does that mean that most of the former are female, and the latter male?

Out of curiosity, has anyone written up a PC ghost template, using the information from Ghost Story? Playing someone like Sir Stuart seems entirely doable, IMO; they still maintain enough self and Free Will to be viable PCs. The main problem I'm seeing is figuring out how their magic works, what with them using memories to fuel them. Some sort of Feeding Dependency, or something?

Puella Magi. I stuck it in the Spoiler forum because it references some stuff from Ghost Story and Cold Days.

Why no one talks of the Reds? IMHO, the most likely suspect. I'll post a most detailed answer later.
Considering that the spell they were using in Changes was a fully-powered version of the same spell Sells was using, I definitely think that a Nemesis-infected Red Court vampire was behind him, at least.

Actually, I'm pretty sure you can use the Nevernever to bypass Thresholds, because that's what Harry does in the climactic battle in Ghost Story.

Of course, if the Threshold you're trying to bypass belongs to anyone with much magical talent or spiritual protection, you can probably expect the local Nevernever to be fortified with static defenses, wards, and goon squads.

You could take any of the powers in the book and treat them as highly specialized spells. Beast change and such have already been mentioned, of course. Gaseous form, for example, could be the shaman's way of a spirit journey, and he is so good at it, that he merely needs an effort of will to leave his body.
Judging by Ghost Story, I'd say Human Form [+1] and Spirit Form [-3] would probably be more appropriate for that.

Yeah, pretty much. I'll also add in that taking traits from the Were-critter template might also be appropriate, for things like the Aztec Jaguar Warriors and people like Listen-to-Wind.

That's not a theme, it's an alternate element. There's a distinct difference between the two. "Seelie Magic" is a theme, not an Element.
Actually, it's both. Actually read the entry; it says that it can be used as an element for Evocation. This shouldn't be terribly surprising, given that the book says that taking Sponsored Magic is equivalent to taking both of the appropriate the Channeling and Ritual powers.

Fire is heat, heat is random movement in a gas. Spirit can do telekinesis, telekinesis is moving things with your mind. Conclusion: I can create fire with spirit.
Air is the element of motion and movement as well. I could move something so fast, that it catches on fire from the friction. If I do this on a miniature level, it will be indistinguishable from fire magic.
In theory, sure, but in practice, they'd produce such tiny amounts of heat for the amount of power you're putting into it that it's just not funny. If you've ever watched Survivor, you might have noticed how much difficulty they've usually got trying to start a fire by means of friction. You'd probably need a full-scale Thaumaturgy ritual to produces useful quantities of heat. By contrast, a Fire evocation just lets you produce useful quantities of it with a wave of your hand.

If you give tattoos a similar restriction as focus items have, you can have them as focus items, sure. Maybe make it so you first need to touch them with your fingers, drawing the power out of them to cast the spell, things like that. People in the know can put duct tape over your tattoos then, paint them over, bandage you, tie you up so you can't touch them, etc. Those not in the know, who would not take a wizards amulet or bracelet, would not care for your tattoos as well. They might still tie you up, but a good athletics roll could allow you to stretch far enough to touch them for one spell to free yourself.
Considering that unless you've got Seelie Magic, biomancy is Thaumaturgy, that's hardly a restriction, since if you're tied up, you can to the ritual stuff you need to get the Thaumaturgy working in the first place.

Well said.  That's coming from a guy that has "I have Victor Sells' Grimoire" as an Aspect.

Oh, boy. How long is it going to be until he winds up with an Aspect of "I'm infected by Nemesis", instead?

Focused practitioners on the other hand are that: focused.
I dunno about that. They're limited to one element, sure, but that one element can do a lot of disparate things, at least if you aren't just choosing Fire. Fire's really good at burning people, but all the other elements can do two or three seperate things. Spirit does mental/spiritual manipulation, ectoplasm, and telekinesis; Air does wind manipulation, motion manipulation, and lightning. Earth does gravity manipulation, magnetism (and thus lightning), rock/metal manipulation, et cetera. Water does entropy and water manipulation.

Besides, the only benefit they can get from Refinement is additional Item Slots, and that's restriction enough.

So, yeah. Air Channelling would totally fit with a dude whose power is manipulating storms. He'd probably want Ritual for really large-scale changes, though.

Hmm. Judging by the way that wizards enchant staves by carving runes on them, I'd say that what would be enchanted would not be the runic tattoos, but your entire body. I suppose it'd provide justification for buying up Refinement, but I wouldn't let it be a Focus.
