A noble of Britain.  If we go with Mab's title The Queen of Air and Darkness it means that she is originally Morgause from Arthurian myth.  Her name changed through the years to Morgause but if you look back at various older stories you might just be able to find the original.

*puts on tinfoil hat*  The Winter/Summer could have started in a way that had nothing to do with the courts.  If you look back to the old Olympian myths and Skin Game when Hades got hitched Hecate(hint hint) distracts mother in law Demeter so Persephone and him can be left in peace.  Now then, we've got Hecate *cough mother winter cough* and the goddess of the summer and fertility together.  Another part of the myth is when Persephone spent time away from Demeter, Demeter got sad and this is what causes winter.  Maybe, rather than this causing the actual seasons this was the beginning of what would eventually become the courts.

Maybe, back when the gods stepped down from defending the Outer Gates they created the Shide (crossing wildfae, mortals, and maybe an Olympian) to be their new partly mortal foot soldiers who would not be effected by the waning beliefs of mortals as the gods were.  Then, Hecate and Demeter were put in charge of them which created the Courts.

Though Hestia, another one of the twelve Olympians who was the goddess of the hearth, fire, and eldest of them could also be Mother Summer.

did Harry come up with 'fist of God' for Michael?  Or was that someone else?
As far as I can remember that was Harry.

Mortals get involved in a big way.
Mab gets blindsided somehow and fails to live up to her side of things.  That or she makes a Spock choice.
Dragons shooting laser beams in outer space.
The Outsiders get in.
Possibly the moon (Gatekeeper's demesne)
Harry has to directly fight against the White Council.  Gatekeeper said it is coming.  I think that the WC will be fractured and the youngsters and some of the SC will follow Harry.
Nic and Black Court fight Outsiders.

Yup.  It seems to be a good series but so frustrating to read month to month.  I have contented myself to reading it by a story arc basis.

While I am generally a warm breakfast kind of guy, I am okay with fruit loops.  The reason that I posted it is because I was eating frito pie and had a similar reaction at the when I read the post.

Ulfgeir and Fox, Thank you for your recommendations.  I will get to those after I finish David Eddings' stuff (or at least those things related to The Belgariad universe).

As long as Mark Hamil and Billy Dee Williams don't Become literary critics.

Can anyone give me some steampunk recommendations?  I have attempted to get into it before but each time that I do I find something horribly written (books, comics, tv) and then start to hate it again.  I am hoping that all of you can steer me in the right direction.

These cats make Cat Sith seem self-effacing and courteous.
...this is horrifying.  I am starting to think that the cats must run everything.

Free will as humans have it has more to do with the range of choices and the ability to go against one's nature.  A human can go around changing their mind, act in whatever way, and then change again with incredibly different repercussions.  Other creatures, like the Fey, can't go against their nature.  The Great Tit can't go around being cold and calculating just like Mab can't go around being all flowers and sunshine (without some sort of Mabish plan in the background).  As far as the fallen go, when they chose to rebel they became that choice.  That choice completely changed what they were on a certain level.  It is the same way that the messengers of the holy people became skinwalkers.  They were angelic beings and when they changed they became like shagnasty.  A human, however messed up, would still be a human.

Seeing as people are going off on the whole Mavra thing I will post my opinion but it only goes so far as the most easily observable stuff in the books:

I say that Mavra is not Black Council.  The Black Council struck a deal with the Reds so that they would attack Edinburgh when everyone was forted up.  Mavra could have blackmailed Harry for any number of things that would have made it easier for Cowl to become a demi-god.  Instead Mavra did something that would make Harry fight them.  Also, if Mavra were black council they would have gone ahead and used the Darkhallow however many times and there would be a dozen Kemmlers running around.

Mavra may have been at the ball and instrumental in certain things but I think that she is actively against Nemesis.

I still think there is more to it than that. If a human can practice magic, a WCV should be able to as well. They are human enough.
The most recent WoJ that I have seen said that for whatever reason WC vamps can get good but never on the same level as the senior council.  Though I can't remember where I say that.  Can anyone link to it if they do?
