He's not an Octogenarian yet... Though it would help if he had more than two expressions.

I can't believe how many votes Nathan Fillion got to be Harry! Nathan is waaay too old and portly. Back in his Firefly (TV) days maaaybe, but NOT NOW. He'd have to lose at least 50 pounds and then be stretched on a rack.
You could start with the literal Ur-example, the Sumerian Gallu:

Have to disagree on both counts. Binder was slippery, but not a coward at all. He was intelligent, and that included a healthy understanding of his relative abilities vs full fledged members of the Council, and a healthy fear of the kind of monster Lara could be (which harry shared at that particular moment. That being said, Mark Sheppard's character in Firefly struck a similar balance of small-fish arrogance with his character in Firefly.
Jaime Murray is another good choice for Lara Raith, but I think Joanne Kelly would be better. As for Kelly already being cast as Bianca in the series, I didn't think we were bound by that. Other actresses I'd like to cast in some Dresden roles are Jaime Ray Newman (one of the young faerie queens?), Lola Glaudini (Susan Rodriguez) and Natalie Zea (one of the young faerie queens?). (drool)
Dresden's my bag, not Potter. Potter's for kids.
How about Joanne Kelly as Lara Raith?
I wouldn't want to see David Tennant as a bad guy.
Something Ive been trying to pin down. Who out there has the feline grace and asymmetric yet roguishly charming features to pull of the Erlking?
Mother Winter's own words: .
I'm not saying that she IS Death (you can tell because she doesn't speak in small caps*), but if The Mothers are or were 2 of the 3 Fates, My guess is that Mother Winter was the one who cut your lifeline (partial WOJ mentioning Mother Summer's roommate getting her shears)
If she has been getting out less and less, it could be related to the increase in human longevity.
What I find pretty stunning is that Harry summoned(or encountered, in the case of the mother summer) all of the senior powers of faerie in a very short period of time. Bro goes hard. Also, mother winter is a stone cold boss. She is most definitely the scariest queen. Butcher has a talent for developing characters like her very richly. I had to chuckle with the whole window soot thing and cleaver business. I wonder what would have happened to the poor boy if the cleaver had hit him...(also what the heck is it made out of? I've always wondered what the fae use instead of steel. I don't think I would put it past the mothers to actually use real steel/iron, though.)
The only thing that is really ticking me off about this book is Harry's freaking messed up daughter issues. It totally jars my image of his character to see him scared to introduce himself to his daughter's life. Yeah, yeah, he has reasons, but I think a big warm fuzzy soul like Harry's is not going to scare away anyone. The girl won't be afraid of big scarred dudes, Michael and Sanya are around all the time. I wish he could have gone to see her before the whole Molly/Maeve thingy went and added a whole layer of distraction. Makes me sad, folks.
