I like both for different reasons. Although I prefer Kim Harrison and Simon Green's worlds over LKH.
I think if I HAD to make a choice it would be the 'out in the open' settings. I like seeing how authors make the paranormal act normal.

Yep.  Terry Pratchett has written most of them.

I guess that's true! As well as Christopher Moore, now that I think about it.

This particular poll was solely intended for the subset of people that discovered the show first. :D

Ahh, well it's good to know the show managed to bring so many over!

One of the choices should be "Been reading the books long before the show started and couldn't wait for the show"
That would be me!

More realistic humans. I'm tired of the perfectly in fit human woman or man being the hero. Make them short. Make them fat. Make them have a limb missing. Heck, just make them acne prone for all I care. Just make the humans seem more - human! Why should all heros and heroines be good looking? Why can't they look like some cross between The Phantom Of The Opera and The Elephant Man? Or at least be rather plain.

Fat women can kick vampire butt too, you know.

I think that's what I loved about Shaun of the Dead. If some supernatural apocalypse did happen, the average population wouldn't form well-oiled platoons to take them out. The survival of the world really would depend on a couple of slacker, beer drinking buddies that thought it was all a joke initially.
Are there any books along those lines?

I'm not generally a "romance" reader, but I enjoyed it.
Also,
::::does the Snoopy dance::::
just got Vampire Academy for my birthday! Can't wait to start it!

Grits is good eatin'.

Meg? Are you another southerner marooned in Yankeeland? What with Pris in NY and me in NJ, we may be starting payback for all the damyankees moving to the south (old joke: What's the difference between a Yankee and a damyankee? A Yankee visits the south and then goes home ;) ).

*edit* Never mind. If I'd research a little and look at profiles before posting, I'd answer my own questions. Duh.

You can add me to the list. I was born and raised in Mississippi, but have spent the last 11 years in Pennsylvania. (Just realized while typing that sentence that apparently my criteria for residence includes number of letters in the name)

Old thread, I know, but I just had to jump in. Finally got a copy of SB. Loved it! It should tell you something that I work 56 hours a week and managed to finish the book in two days.
Must sleep now.
Thanks Richelle! I can't wait to see more from you!

2.   Where did Harry get his staff?........

Please make me aware of any errors that might be contained within because otherwise I'll drive myself friggin' insane.

I'm compiling questions for a dresden files trivia quiz on facebook. I could do it the hard way and review all the books. But heck, I've got a brain trust right here! So I'm taking your favorite dresden trivia!
