I also would recomend Serenity, but like the others before me it's only 'cause I'm a browncoat myself. Also call of Cthulhu is some really fun stuff that comes with a simple system

Mine was blowing up a spacestation the party was on just to kill two characters, the characters deserved to die but not the whole party. I was just a little angry and so I went overboard. My funniest mistake on the other hand was that the 1st lvl Bless spell makes your weapons Holy.  ???

Well, let's see:
D&D: 8th lvl Sor/1st lvl Ftr/ 2nd lvl Rog
White Wolf's Mage: Order of Hermes with 4 dots in forces, 2 in prime, and 1 in liife
Unisystem: Witch advantage five or six levels, as well as 5 levels of hard to kill and two levels of bad luck.

And those are the big three systems that my group plays.

Unsure of the book but:
Mechanincs: "I called my mechaninc Mike, he's the Jesus Christ of mechanincs, and he said the Beetle was ready."

Personally I see Harry as more of a multiclass Sor/Wiz/Rog with the first two for magical power and the latter for his small amount of actual investigation and people skills. I could totally see Murph as a Monk, she's a great martial artist and ... well she's a great martial artist. Billy's style of Werewolf is more in tune with the Druid's wild shape although he doesn't have anyother druid abilities so that can't be it, maybe Werewolf fighter?

Rapport:
"Harry, what you know about women I can juggle." Bob the skull.

Man, that sounds like fun. Mix in some of the Cthulhu horror and you're looking at a great game. The Dresden game I run is set in Florida and two of the three PC's are Miami Vice style cops, I swear I had nothing to do with that part!

See all of the aspects of magic that were mentioned in the beginning are part of thaumatology and evocation. True names are used in thaumatology, ectomancy can be either evoc or thau. The styles of magic are all about how you do it, not what you do with it.

If we're talking the old school Mage the Ascension I would say that Harry is from the Order of Hermes.

There's this really cool metal band from Austin called The Sword and their stuff is great for D&D. Most of their lyrics are based on Norse myth.

Looks really good.

My group ran it with the old White Wolf stuff, though it was a little harder to work in ordinary humans. We ran them using the Hunter rules, but not giving the edges and whatnot. Though as the game progressed and the humans learned more about the supernatural we began to let them pick up some edges

Besides, the lack of a cleric type character makes the entire game a little more intersting. You actually have to focus on surviving rather than just waiting for your mates to get you resurrected.

I'd prefer to play, maybe not a Knight, but a character similar to the Knights of the Cross. Perhaps, though, a character with a different faith.
