Well, they could always do Might maneuvers the first turn

This is exactly what I was thinking actually.  By themselves they are never dangerous unless they surprise people.  Also they rarely seem to kill people by NOT eating them.  So what I was thinking is if you have say 4 of them, 3 of them perform maneuvers (might, contacts, or  intimidate) that the last one tags.  Suddenly that fists +1 is now +7, and that is fairly dangerous.  Like previously mentioned base venomous off of might instead of fists and you are golden.

For the life sense, I was thinking more of a long distance sense for when they have covered the earth and somehow 10s to 100s all end up crowding around some abandoned farmhouse in the middle of nowhere.

I would just rearange the skills.  The classic ones where more horror based.  They are never shown to be good in a fight.

+4  Might
+3  Intimidation
+2  Contacts
+1  Fists

Add a power:
Sense the Living [-1] (Can always sense the nearest human)
Claws [-3] (Venomous, biting, uses might for enderance check, takeout always equals becoming one)

I just can't see how the white court brought down the entire red court of vampires. This system is not meant for large scale engagements.

Not really sure I'd rely on the novels to be recreatable by the game but:

Not too sure I agree with you on the ninja mechanic.

Uh...you and I have not been reading the same urban fantasy. And most of mine's been written by female writers, too. So, uh, I disagree? Would you like some recommendations?

Bah just ignore me, as I am exaggerating a bit (hmm admiting that probably breaks an internet law).  Just saying that ever since Hamilton's Anita Blake Vampire Slayer series came out the market has exploded, which is good, however it's mostly a hit or miss on if a book/series is worth reading.  It's common to see a lack in setting design, consistency, and character development.  It goes back to the question if you can easily tell if the writers are in love with, or wish they where their characters.  I get the feeling this is more the case from some of the female writers I have read over male ones *shrugs*. (Note: This is all just mostly a feeling, I haven't started making lists or anything like that)

But sure send me a list, am always open to reading things others recommend.

Always was kinda curious how that worked actually.

If you have diamond skin (like mythic toughness) could you really feel anything?  Nevermind, if they are actually that tough/strong/whatever, wouldn't it almost be like making love to a marble statue.  Talk about chilly, uncomfortable, and possibly extremely painful.

Definately Mary Sues.  TBH, it seems like the entire urban fantasy genre is getting like this (it's mostly from the female writers).  Jim's work is a nice change of pace as he pretty puts all his character's through the ringer.  I wouldn't be surprised if some stuttering guy runs over one of the major people with a concrete roller sometime in the next few books.

PS: Love the write up for those Adin.  Only issue is that starting with having mythic EVERYTHING might be a bit much.  If they did, I would make it where they can be dominated by any that are older and have little to no free will and are not driven completely mad by bloodlust (or they would just kill anything they see).  Also you might want to consider making it where creating one is a major undertaking and somehow links them to their creator, that would get rid of the possibly of creating a bunch to use as disposables which has also been done to death.

Also remember that Justine is a bit crazy.  She doesn't think that sex has anything to do with love...
Um...yes, you can have sex without loving the other person at all. How is that "crazy"?[/quote]

So when Justine has sex with Mara, it mingles her energy with someone not touched by true love, essentially overwriting the influence on true love.

Exactly.  What I mean is she can have sex with someone without it affecting her love of Thomas.  This wouldn't typically be the case.

You could make this your High Concept and use compells and fate points from there.  That way you keep the pure mortal bonus.  A lot of the time it really won't matter.  Taking a card every hour in game would make things very crunchy and more about the character than the overall story, which imo isn't a good thing.

Past that if you are going to use an actual deck, definately use a tarot one.  Your negatives would just be the card reversed. When you consider the fact that they also have multiple meanings...

Past that Thomas works as hair dresser, and feeds at work.  You can easly infer if that is the case he couldn't do this if True Love was at all common.

It's one of the places where gameplay doesn't match up with what happens in the novels *shrug*.

Personally I never understood that.  You have to have a pyramid in everything else for fate, why not the focus items?

It is one of the things that makes wizards too powerful.  Which is even worse when it's combined with players that go "well I use spirit(or whatnot) for everything".....    :-\

Going back to the original question about law breaking.  Imo if you decided to break a law you would get law breaker since it's your will doing it.   Now if one of the queens forces your hand (and they definitely can based on the books), you would not.  It's been mentioned multiple times, but Will is what matters most in magic.  It's not explicit in the RPG, but it has been mentioned fairly often in the books that wizards can fairly easily sense (without the sight) warlocks and that they will kill them without soulgazing them without hesitation.

And for the accords, who really knows what effect they have.  Hehe, still remember those comments in "Our story" which is summed up with;  Will: "Any chance I can get a copy of the Accords?", Harry: "Hell No".

A couple things.

Athletics is way to high (should only be good)
Intimidate is too low
Alertness is too low (remember this is intiative also)
No Ride, Drive, Survival, or Discipline skills

Squit could just be a stunt that lets you use Intimidate with Presence (though Presence could also be a bit too high).

You would probably be much better off doing a broader tree.

PS: easy way to get around that high of an atheltics def is hit him with a might, end, or  disc attack and proceed to watch the guy get splatted....

Think Sanctaphrax was more refering to the fact that the Denarians ALWAYS transform to their combat shapes when fighting.  If they didn't have to do this why would they???  I mean it is kinda hard on clothes.

So yea MOST of the Denarians (at least the ones that can pass as human) should have human form.

Why couldn't you do it this way for special items that your character has access too?  I mean it would be perfect for batman...  "Where did you get such wonderfull toys?".
