Oh! And Jim evidently know a 6'9" Brit named Charlie. I meant to ask him about that, as while a nation may produce any number of inordinately tall men named Charles, I can't help but wonder if we have a common acquaintance.

I did indeed. AND I managed to get my book signed, say hi to Jim (who did recognize me, booyah, even though I can reliably state I look nothing like I did back in the day) and make it out of the parking lot one minute before they'd have charged me an extra three bucks. It was a great event, and I'm very glad I went.
