DFRPG / Re: Non-Standard Settings?
« on: May 09, 2011, 04:20:46 PM »
I honestly think the system is solid and flexible enough that it could work with a large number of other roleplaying game settings with relatively minor tweaks. I have plans to use the system to run games set in Deadlands, Shadowrun, and the various World of Darkness lines. The use of aspects and fate chips to cover things that would require complicated mechanics in other systems makes the game really appealing.

It's not quite the same topic, but what about Inhuman/Supernatural/Mythic Charisma. It would have the same bonus as the strength powers but focused on social combat. You could probably also extend toughness and recovery to the social realm as well pretty easily. Speed doesn't seem to translate however.

Are those stunts pulled from the book or somewhere else? The last two seem rather overpowered. Also I don't think Lethal Shot should Stack with Precise Shot; it seems like a serious double dipping.

DFRPG / What Is the Purpose of An Arcane Library?
« on: July 30, 2010, 01:41:44 PM »
So after reading the section of the quality of workshops I am a little confused. The Resources skill entry says that the difficulty or complexity is limited by the quality of your workshop. So if I have a Superb Lore, but only a mediocre workshop would I be limited to only +1 complexity thaumaturgy spells? If not what does the Arcane Workspace limit?

DFRPG / Help Me Understand Victor Sells’ Heart Exploding Spell
« on: July 07, 2010, 10:43:48 PM »
So after reading the section on thamaturgy I understand Sells basically used every step possible to gain power for this ritual, including taking an extreme, a severe, and a moderate consequence. However, this would seem to only work the first time he cast the spell. Without significant time to clear these consequences off his sheet, he would be unable to cast the spell again. How is fueling the spell for further castings? In subsequent castings is he invoking his consequences for the extra shifts or have I missed something?
