Maggie's section was heartbreaking and hopeful all at once. Girl has had it rough.

DF Spoilers / Re: What is a Saint? (Series Spoilers)
« on: June 17, 2017, 03:46:52 AM »
I'd like to butt in at this point and say this - why is the assumption that a Saint can only be a worshipper of the Abrahamic Almighty? There could well be a Horus worshipping saint, or (tickles my fancy, this one) a mercenary who doubles as a saint because he's the purest of Odin worshippers.

Just a little nitpick - Titania said she hadn't spoken to her sister "since well before Hastings", right? Not "since Hastings".

We tend to go for the human, because Mother Summer said the Fae breed with humans...

Yes, but as Maeve/Mab/Lea? [TheCuriousFan, TheCuriousFan, TheCuriousFan, I summon thee!] once said, the Fae copycat the mortal world.

But not all Fae are human form. Some take on the shape of elk, lions, goats (ahem!) et cetera.

I'd headcanon Sidhe=human-form Fae, while Fae is just a general term for the creatures one and all of Faerie.

Wraps up those two contradictory seeming WoJs in one fell swoop too!

I'm sorry if this has been mentioned already;I only read the first two pages of this thread before I had to throw this out there.

WoJ has it that every one of the Fae has a little mortal in them. 'Mortal', not 'human'. Perhaps that reconciles the two contradictory WoJs?

My headcanon has Wizards as Namers and Shapers; Harry's just well above the norm in ability to Name stuff, while not being the sharpest Shaper in the strongbox.

Huh.

I haven't straight up enjoyed a Dresden book like that since Small Favor. And that was my favourite book of the series.

Finding any wizard insane enough to attempt such a theft would be the most difficult part of the entire scenario.

If something is so insane that even Harry wouldn't consider it then you know that the needle has gone right off the scale.
I'm thinking you're underestimating Harry's crazy level a wee bit. If he thought he'd have to, he'd definitely do it.

Harry High-jacked the Hunt. X P
I feel remarkably stupid for not remembering that the Wild Hunt would be a factor. But not Harry master of improv, huh?

For me it's more like Go Andi! Butters is a remarkable guy, any woman would be pleased to...er...'have' him.

Oddly enough for a power up, what I've noticed the most is that Harry withoust his trusty prep time focuses and protections, even with the Winter mantle, isn't quite as dangerous. Certainly all kinds of vulnerable.
