Pft. I already know what a windlass is: A girl who has an airship. Obviously.

OK, first CD lunatic notion from me; the Mothers are the White God. (In a Sophia sort of way).http://www.jimbutcheronline.com/bb/index.php/topic,35071.0.html
Second; the Mothers are the White God's boss.
I don't think so.Uriel changes his appearance several times. The first time they meet he's a dark-skinned old janitor with silver hair.
From the description when Harry first meets Uriel.
Uriel has dark skin. NPH is not dark.
1 ) Harry usually has a few supporting characters in each book. Who do you think will be the main sidekick in Cold Days and in what way will they help? Who else will have a significant contribution to the plot?Toot, being a fairie, will be Harry's main sidekick. Toot will help Harry by explaining the Fae to him in more detail, as well as providing support and being a "go-to" guy. Lea will probably have a big contribution by giving him all kinds of interesting information. Cowl will make an appearance, and as a (dangerous and untrustworthy) ally who helps Harry stop whatever badness is going down on Demonreach.
2 ) At the end of Ghost Story, Harry has said goodbye to all his friends in Chicago.Questions bolded, answers underneath each question^^^
a. Who will be the first friend to find out Harry isn't dead?
Butters and Bob. Harry already explained that he might not be dead to them, so they're most likely to accept his return without violence.
b. What shenanigans/snark will Harry use when he "re-appears"?
Gandalf reference, but instead of Gandalf the White it'll be Gandalf the Blue, because of the Winter Knight thing.
c. Who will have the coolest reaction?
I predict an amusing series of reactions, similar to the apartment scenes in Turn Coat, where they each try to kill Harry when they see him.
d. Who will have the most touching reaction?
Murphy, by far. She'll practially collapse when Harry proves it's him, and she'll end up punching him in the face through her tears.
3 ) In nearly every book, Harry usually comes up with a new powerup/tool/way of making things go boom. Given that he just became the new WK, what new abilities will he rely on and which new ability will be the most useful to him during the story (and how)?Obvious answer is that Harry will be relying on a lot of ice magic instead of his usual fire. He'll do a cool thing to some monster where he freezes it and shatters it with a blast of force.
4 ) Harry generally has a "Big Bad" to worry about. In fact, according to the blurb, Harry is going after someone very specific. Who will that enemy be, and how will Harry take him/her/it down?Obviously someone who pissed off Mab. I'm predicting someone responsible for Arctis Tor. Possibly a yet-unknown godling who participated. Surprise answer: He won't kill them. He'll stop them from pulling off whatever scheme they're doing, but they'll live.
5 ) Harry usually faces some sort of "Choice" in every book. A point where the easy way out will cost his soul/humanity in some way. According to the blurb, this book will be no different. What will be the most crucial "choice" Harry makes? Some powerful being (Drakul?) will offer to protect him and his loved ones from Mab in exchange for service. Harry has to choose between breaking his deal with Mab, or making a new deal with something possibly worse.
6 ) As the new Winter Knight, Harry is pretty much garunteed to encounter his Summer counterpart -- Fix. What will their interactions be? Will Fix survive? No encounter with Fix, other than maybe talking to him at the "birth party" or whatever it is at the start of the book.
7 ) Jim has mentioned that it's about time now to start revealing some of the motivations/dealings of the shadowy figures working behind the scenes (i.e. what Harry calls the "Black Council"). What Black Council secrets/actions will be revealed in this book?Cowl's identity, for one. And maybe some of the other players in the Circle's corner. One of which includes Drakul.
8 ) There are many WAG ("Wild A$$ Guess") theories on the boards. Write up to three WAG theories you believe are correct that will be confirmed (or at least have evidence in favor of) in Cold Days.Lash will reappear at the end of the book in one form or another.
9 ) Extra credit: Write down any prediction about that you think might improve your final score. Only issues aluded to within Cold Days will be counted.Molly will kiss Harry right on the mouth when she sees him. After she tries to kill him, of course.
Pretty is pretty in my mind. Personal taste and all that.Well, canonically Nic has a slight British accent, but for some reason I just can't imagine it. It just always reverts back to Jeffery Bandares. Or would that be Antonio Donovan? Jantonio Dondares? Anteffery Banovan?
Funny, Nic is always British in my mind.
Yeah, you're right, I overreacted. Grey Warden, I'm sorry for kind of flipping out.Someone apologizing on the internet?! Highly irregular.
I can't help it, he seems a little too pretty to play Nicodemus.Oh I dunno. Nic is described as pretty good-looking. Plus, whenever I hear Nic's voice it's kind of a combination of Donovan and, for some insane reason, Antonio Banderas.
Grey Warden, please just stop. It's not funny, it will never be funny. If you're trolling, then you've taken it too far. If you're serious, then you really need to know that most of us do not share your opinons on the skills of certain actors, and it is unlikely that we will ever change our minds.
Look, I think that Cruise, Bale, and Reeves have all made some good movies. But they are not suited for anything in the Dresden Files. It's bad enough Keanu is apparently being cast as Spike in the live-action Cowboy Bebop movie, we don't need him messing up the Dresden Files too. And Tom Cruise is barely relevant anymore.Pure opinion. Telling someone, in essence, to shut it because your opinion of several actors is different from theirs is something that I'm pretty sure is frowned upon here.
Bale's an ok actor. Haven't seen Fighter, but I liked the Prestige. Nevertheless, he's certainly not the right actor for Nicodemus.
With regard to Uriel's seven words: Uriel says that Mab is lying, but we know she is incapable of lying (Mr. Butcher thoughtfully wrote us a scene in this very book in which Dresden reminds us of this). On the other hand, nowhere is it said the Uriel is incapable of lying. He certainly seems to find it distasteful, but presumably he is capable of it, especially when issues of cosmic balance are involved.Holy freaking crap, I just had a scary thought.
