In the Dresdenfiles Spoiler forums the stickied threads are slowly taking over the first page of the forum. In a few years they may start colonizing the second page. Let's see if we can't take back some territory from them.

The above threads say that the Dresden Files Spoilers Forum is a Spoiler okay zone,  describes the policy spoilers for recently released novels/stories, and announces that we now have spoiler tags and when they should be used, respectively. One thread which contained all the info from theses 3 topics would be more efficient and instead of looking at 3 threads a new guy would only need to look at one.

How long should copyrights last? In the US it last author's life plus 70 years. That seems fairly excessive to me. Why do authors need such a high incentive to write? A period between 20-40 years would seem sufficient to give author's the incentive to write yet increase the public domain rapidly, which is why we have intellectual property rights in the first place.

Are we having a debate or a discussion on this thread? I would say both. We are trying to collaboratively define debates and discussions, but we have a number of disagreements and are arguing our various points on the matter. I think the whole thing is based on a false dichotomy. I agree with Lightsabre.
