Interesting thought that it could be one of the Nem-fected.  Have we decided whether that ability has limitations? In other words, is there a limit to the number of individuals that can be infected?  Much like the 13 corner hounds, or something like that.

Presumably He Who Walks Beside can only split his attention in so many directions, but beyond that we have had no idea or hints from Jim as to the outsider's capacity yet.

I'd also like to point out that this may not entirely have been of Harry's own free will.  "Die alone".  The necromancer's death curse that he's been living under.  The full phrase that this is referring to is "You're going to die alone", a phrase often aimed at people who inevitably push others away, find themselves ostracized or outcast, and generally act in ways that cause other people to not associate with them or not WANT to associate with them.

Think about it.  When Murphy died, it was noted that Harry was already treating her like she was dead or utterly incapacitated due to her injury - even though she was legitimately able to get back up to 80% (which is still better than Butters had when he first helped save the world).  When he saw Butters after becoming the Winter Knight, he didn't stop to say hi and chat with friends, he paid his debt to Bob and got ready to go again - something Butters called him out on. 

It may have even had influence on why that Fallen Angel was able to manipulate Harry so easily into choosing to BE the Winter Knight in the first place, and the subsequent actions which SEVERELY harmed Molly's sanity and put her on the path towards becoming the Winter Maiden - forever keeping her from seeking Harry's embrace as she tried to do previously.

Death curses are powerful.  They're subtle.  They're insidious.  Is it really that much of a stretch to think that it nudged Harry in the direction of keeping Ramirez out of it for his own safety, even though such an act basically treats Ramirez as a child who's not big/capable enough to handle himself?

I wonder though, could you use the Eye with the Blackstaff. A wizards Staff Has a Knob On The End after all, could PT and BG JUST been Jim setting that gag up? Eb dies using the eye on the Blackstaff fuelled by his hate of Vampires.

Interesting theory but he would somehow have to infiltrate Demonreach to do it. Harry's not going to be taking it out of the island's vault any time soon.  I doubt old Ebenezar is stronger or more skilled than Merlin - the Original Merlin - himself, so it would have to be a pretty unique blind spot that would allow him access to the prison itself instead of simply standing on the island's surface.

I'd also like to point out that the Black Council is on a lot of people's bad sides.  Nicodemus hates them, the Merlin hates them, Harry wants them brought down and so does Ebenezer.  Compare that to fighting alongside the Winter Queen, her allies, the White Council and more besides.  There's no way Marcone would put such a big bullseye on his own head by joining them as a potential lackey when he could work with the people who are winning instead - and stand among them as an equal.

We've already seen some of it with Harry vs Ebenezar on the docks, and Harry's knowledge of Molly's capabilities certainly saved him from the instadeath that Eb threw at him as a last resort.  And there's Anastasia who was the only person that could make those unique Warden swords.  Hell, even Harry has stuff like that - remember his Bazooka Staff trick?  No one else has done anything like it that we've ever seen.


It'll be interesting to see what the rest of them are capable of.

I also don't see what any of the Fallen have to offer her in the first place.

Poorly trained for what? What exactly is important in a wizards training?

Knowledge, particularly knowledge of spells and potions as well as what is effective vs ineffective against various supernatural beings.  And in that regard, Harry had one of the best teachers of all.

Bob taught him the spells to enforce his duster, the spells he uses in investigation, ALL the potions he's ever used, every bit of supernatural knowledge and lore, etc. etc.  And everything Harry ever learned from Bob was for a practical purpose in one form or another, which means he learned it well and it stuck with him because he had uses for each and every bit of knowledge.

It's true that by the standards of other Wizards Harry is very lacking in overall wizardly knowledge.  But he has cherry-picked the most useful pieces and made them his own thanks to an extremely helpful skull.  He is NOT poorly trained as a wizard any more.

I doubt that Lea could heal him anyway,  what she did for Susan was temporary if I remember correctly because Harry got all excited when she did it, and asked her about it.

Lea said that she put their Hungers to sleep, in response to his question.  she didn't explain how she did so or what her magic targeted in order to accomplish that. Harry WOULD have to offer something in return for the knowledge, but it would be a better starting point than his current start of "zippedy doo da".
