I've seen this more in my game with defensive spells rather than offensive. The issue is you trade duration for power.

Also a question on conceeding. Can that work on anyone? Including creatures hellbent on trying to kill you? Because my dm tried to convince me otherwise and I'd rather the opinions of those who have the experience and knowhow.

Your Story p206 Covers Concessions and yes you can concede at any time and retain some degree of control over your character's fate so long as you do so before you are taken out. Yes it will work on with enemys hellbent on killing you. It is specifically  called in the rule book as a way to prevent an enemy hellbent on your character's death from killikg them. There will still be bad things but your character won't die unless that is your choice.
In your shoes I would ask to talk to the GM with the salient page of the rules open. If s/he goes oh i missed that when i read through the book thats one thing. If s/he is gets mad or tries to browbeat you   for bring it up you have a GM who is railroading your character. Then you need to have a very diffrent conversation because for alot of gamers having the gm take over their character's the fastest way to suck the fun out of Gaming.

Ritual: Crafting seems aproperate, as do high craftsmanship and craftsmanship out the yang. Unless they have Fay Magic which would make retooling Summer or Winter Magic . I've seen things that reference them as having significant levels of both physical and magical badassary. I know in one of the more recent short stories Harry had to maneuver around one rather than take his usual blunt force approach.  That is my benchmark for the level of strenght Salkint should have. I think they are fay with cold iron dificulties, because Harry's fully upgraded circle had most of the  exorbitant  cost coming from the fact that the circle included work in cold iron. Wishing there was an official template. Closest thing is the blurb that says don't irritate them from DFRPG Accelerated.

I might include some form of ritual for attracting good luck, that grants a very minor bonus.
In my experience, nobody ever uses common rituals. But one idea that comes to mind is to find and use natural passages to the Nevernever.
My group uses the common ritual for Nevernever passages

So one of my players is playing a Redneck "Svartelf" Changeling. Who may have irratated Salkint, his dear old dad, by upgrading the hot tub his old man built for Kringle.  Since the group now has to negotiate with Salkint this has become an issue, since now they have to get water from Mímir's well before they even begin negoations.  Since there is no information in game out about the svartalvar, any thoughts on what powers might be appropriate for one that will a recurring NPC be in the game?
