Marcone is an Italian surname. I'd pronounce it Marcòne, with the final "e" sounding like the initial "e" in "enemy". I'm Italian, by the way...

No, I did not. I casually picked up White Nights at the station for a bit of light reading while travelling and I got, like, totally hooked!
