Its not really that long a drive from Huntsville, I used to do it all the time when I lived up there. Of course I would listen to audio books on the way down, that might have made the drive easier.   :D

Another thing that drives me nuts is a tendency towards describing characters, but not the plots.

Bob is a finical consultant with and exwife who hates him.

Jeff is a space pirate who thinks he's a monkey.

Gillian never got that pony she wanted.

Guilliam is the smallest Yakuza.

All exist in this newest work from the master of.....

GIVE US A FREAKING PLOT.

Yes, I'm looking at you, William Gibson's publisher.

Mickey Finn is a moderator that just wants his damn plot.... ;D

I'm tempted to ask if my brother will take the day off with me and go to Houston to this with me.
I'm too afraid to go on my own. I get lost. :(

I know exactly how you feel I get lost all the time too. So I'm going to have to go the day before so I can map everything out first.

If I didn't have enough experience to know that the name dropping didn't really amount to much, I might be tempted by something that Jim said was good. Unfortunately I have seen some authors I really like put their comments on the back of some really bad books so you learn not to trust them, much like your can't really trust anything printed on the back of a book.  ;D

Your more than welcome to show up and try to beat me, you won't of course, but you can still try.  :P

Don't worry its on the way, it just takes them a while to get the books out and they have been doing the newer books first then squeezing in the older books when they could. Book 6 and 7 should be out some time in April I believe.

Are there even fewer signing appearances than Turn Coat?

I know Bookie will be crushed that there is no Chicago.  Anyone have any ideas on why he is doing the launch in Houston?

Because Houston is just cool like that ;)

<< is bummed

Houston is probably doable for me, but won't be nearly as fun as Chicago.

Maybe there's a Chicago date later in the tour... I'd rather go to Chicago for a 'regular' signing than  to Houston for a release day signing...

Oh come on bookie, Houston isn't that bad. I am sure it would still be fun.  ;D

Weren't there a couple of other races in Alera when they first showed up? Of course they fought them into extinction, so I guess they had just as little none war contact as with the Cannim or Marat. I could see the Legions maybe keeping some of them as slaves (if taking them as slaves was at all possible) before they went extinct. Do you think that would have had any effect?
