George RR Martin does that to you.

How about Robert Jordan?

Luccio also talked about possibly training up her new body to her previous ability. Possibly magic use is part physical and part mental - nerves, perhaps, conduct magical force, without training they can only do so much. Luccio swapped into a non-mage and had SOME ability. Maybe Corpsetaker is limited in the bodies of non-mages, but she can pull her one specialty. Aren't the Black Court eager to get wizards to turn? Maybe it is not just mental. Unfortunately for Luccio, looks like the little cutie she inhabits just isn't going to be able to get where she had been. Sounds a little Heaven Can Wait (Beatty version) ? His new body had to be trained up to get NEAR his old one.

And summoning is not necromancy. No death involved.

I should think in a true stasis, both mind AND body are frozen - the brain has to work to think - synapses firing, etc.

Now, as for swapping - if I swapped, say, with Paul Mc Cartney, do I get a Liverpool accent when I talk? Is that mental, or muscle memory? Corpsetaker jumped bodies as Luccio was about to kill her ion the duel - could the brit even be Kemmler, swapping in to let the Wardens kill his old body?

Oh, if you want to twist it up a little - this is pretzel logic beyond anything Steely Dan came up with....

We know those prisoners can be in for years, centuries... many would die of old age. We don't want that.

But we know time passes at different rates in the NeverNever. Murph got canned for missing work when she came back and found she had missed a day because the nevernever region she was in time ran slower than ours.

So - we want the prisoners to avoid aging. Maybe the cells are really little pocket dimensions, with time disjoint from ours. The crystals are simply the portal windows between the two dimensions. That way the prisoners need not age.

It has been suggested at times the Eebs survived the bloodline curse, as they were being held off-dimension in Faerie by the Erlking. So - maybe being off dimension may let you survive the bloodline curse? Though possibly the Eebs survived the curse to die in the torture chambers of the goblins.

But Marsters, held off dimension, was ALSO isolated in quarantine, safe from the bloodline curse - so if he is freed, he is still a half-vamp - the ONLY one of the Red Court blood -  and can become the new Red King....

Not seen that and Harry is so much fire, if he also has an affinity for water magic he should be able to replicate Carlos trick and should be an apt pupil to River Shoulders .

He does some water magic  doesn't he pull water in the duel with Arianna? Does vulcanomancy once or twice too. I don't think he's totally inept at water, just better at fire.

Can anyone remember the book with the conversation between Rashid and Harry? For most of the books I only have them as audiobooks and it does not really lend itself to searching.

Is it the one near the end of Turn Coat, where Harry is in the sick bay at Edinburgh, and Rashid does his Sphere of Silence spell? i thought Rashid was asking because the tones were off, maybe from the acoustics?

So we buy the same story twice. Three times with the audiobook. Four times if it’s not Marsters.

Well, that IS assuming you bought the first anthology.  I don't buy them for one or two stories. Jim gives me the option to bypass it. Appreciated.

You really have cats named Harry and Thomas? Lovely  :)

I have a friend who mixes Star Wars in... there's an Obi Dresden, and Mouse Marcone.... (cats) and a possible half credit for a Merlin (dog)?  Big chunky cats too - part.. coon? Mister might approve.

To a lesser extent, Sniegoski's (sp?) Remy Chandler is a PI who is also an Angel. Not Fallen, but one who walked away after the Wars in Heaven. More like an officer who resigned his commission after the war.  He CAN go back, he chooses not to. Also worldly problems that are reflective of supernatural troubles below. Set in Boston. Like Harry, he doe snot age like we do, he's thousands of years old, though not immortal. Like Hearne, he can talk to his dog, but Marlowe is not nearly as smart as Oberon, or as involved... i think he is mainly there for Remy to talk to and for us to hear. More like a child level.

The problem with Lea is that she is Fae, which means she would require payment in kind. A life for a life.

It may not be his, or his child's.... what if he was asked to TAKE a life? Be a Whamp hitman for the Fae? Why suspect the Fae if a Vamp is killing someone?

Not saying Lea wanted the svaltalf dead. But could Lea say "I will destroy this demon, if you destroy..."  (sounds like Throw Momma from the Train).

More likely a Svartalf orgy than a female Bigfoot. The Swartalves owe Thomas if they have accepted he was a tool of Nemesis, they put him in this condition when they didn’t need to, and previously Thomas did have relations with almost the entire Female half of the Swartalf nation.

But will the Demon within him stop before feeding so heavily on a female he kills her? Lara was shocked he was able to pull off Justine.... the reason i say a scion or Forest People is they seem to have more life force - it was why Irwin survived the vampire heiress - she couldn't suck him dry, there was too much there.  Thomas' demon may be sated long before he drains the scion.

I hope he is well and is writing the Olympian Affair. I'm really looking forward to that book.

I wish we got some sort of updates on this website, Twitter, or somewhere (anywhere). I saw the video from Dragon Con where he said he thought he'd be having something finished by February... it's now February. I wonder how things are progressing...

I yearn for the days when Jim was cranking out a book a year!

At dragonCon he said he was at 40% and hoped to be done by his (October) birthday. Guess not..... (Ref: Con, https://www.paranetonline.com/index.php/topic,54440.0.html )

There WAS a rumor of another divorce.. and we know  how badly the first threw him off. Not as much solid documentation on that rumor, reddit stuff

Yes, we all have the dilemma of whether to pay the full price for a book for a little hit of Dresden.

If it’s half a dozen pages it will be very annoying, if it 90 pages much better. As the headliner I would hope the latter.

Jim is much better than most authors in that we will get a Side Jobs or Brief Cases  in time so that we see these stories

Well, we know from Bigfoot on Campus that a scion can withstand a vampire mating... maybe River knows a nice scion... or, it IS an emergency, a Forest People girl? ;)
