Is Warden Yoshimo related to Knight-of-the-Cross Shiro Yoshimo, or are the names a coincidence?

Confirmed as of White Knight. Just before Harry torture the Ghouls he has asked her for a family tree to help with his research on how Knights of the Cross are picked. He confirms they had an ancestor in common.

So upcoming AMA, incredible opportunity, but I'd like to see and hear questions that Jim might actually answer rather than get an "I'm not gonna tell you"or "That seems like an inconsistency"

I can't think of a way to phrase the question the way it might actually be answered but would love to learn more about Margaret le Fey.

DF Spoilers / CRACK Theory. Winter Knight and Holy Knight.
« on: July 30, 2020, 05:23:56 AM »
So my crack theory is that the last time a Winter Knight and a Knight of the Cross worked together was Gilles de Rois (confirmed Winter Knight) and Joan of Arc.

Also of note Drakul and Dracula were running around at this point.

DF Spoilers / Spoilers Peace Talks Zoo Day- Foo Dogs
« on: July 29, 2020, 07:35:38 AM »
So Harry offers Thomas his own Foo Dog and he said he'd consider it.

What about Mouses Shadow in Zoo Day, Thomas is a tortured shadow in his own way, the Shadow has already been introduced, might be a good link and lead up later on.

I mean as much as peoplle hate this word I think it applies. MANTLE!.

If it wasn't a mantle various legendary Fae and their titles would be dead already by now.

So whoever takes over the Tylwyth Teg, will probably get the Gwyn Ap Nudd mantle/title, but without the personal vendetta against the cubs.

Soo a couple months back someone made a thread about how the Chicago Cubs were doing well for once and speculated why.

haha I like it. My only contention is Vadderung lives up to his word although then again Odin is a trickster as well

Vadderung was Beowulf and Kringle. I wonder if he feels guilty about Vikings raiding, though then again I guess Uriel has regrets about Christianity's bloody past enough that Saladin was a KotC.

Anyway got me thinking of other names, hats and yes MANTLES.

Seen a theory going round that Ferrovax might also be Hades and the Erlking.

So Mab was most likely Nimue.

Personally think Titania was Morgana.

Ethniu was celtic goddess which fits with Formorians, but she's called a Titan. The Last Titan. Does she have a Greek equivalent?

Back on topic.

If Mab was/is Nimue does that make Titania Morgana?

I'm looking forward to learning more about Spire Olympian. From the references throughout it sounds like a cool place.

I like the theory. It'd satisfy my desire for more Ferrovax than we've gotten so far.

Also Vadderung tapped his staff three times, which I think si the official calling for a duel.

If Ferrovax is the Midgard Serpent, then note that he probably killed Odin's son Thor in the DV's version of Ragnarok. (Which didn't quite go down by the book, since Odin was supposed to get killed.)

That's a pretty good reason to hold a grudge.

WOJ confirmed Thor is still alive playing College Football.

DF Spoilers / Re: Kincaid
« on: July 12, 2020, 12:29:19 PM »
The Dome Shield Harry had Molly use in Turn Coat, could theoretically stop a sniper bullet but you'd have to trigger it so know the attack is coming.

Otherwise Warded locations seem to be the best defense.

Even Marcone said Harry's apartment was the best defensive location in Chicago.

Anyway back to Kincaid. John Wick is probably the best modern analogy, he never misses, throws in a little martial arts, claims to be merely human.

One thing on the possible Devil Hound of Hell insinuation, Kincaid could be the scion of a Fallen Angel, not necessarily Lucifer or the Devil.

It would make a good family civil war of Small Favor, although admittedly if that was the case it would have been hinted at in Small Favor at the time. Family Drama is a common theme with Jim so it's probably just a WAG.

Dark hair I guess, one can have a pale skin and still be olive complected I think.  He isn't peaches and cream to be sure.  Yeah, in these COVID times I recently rewatched the television series, wow..I got introduced to the Dresden Files though the television show, loved it and went on to the books.  But now?  I found it a bit shocking on how much the show differed from the books.  The one thing I continue to love about the old television series is Bob.

Yeah TV Bob was fun and classy. I enjoy some of the Dresden Files episodes. It's how I got into the series as well.

That and I needed a new series after Sookiee Stackhouse.

.
Mine as well, however it is still odd that the two wizards where their height is always brought up, is Harry and Rashid.  As far as Harry's complexion goes, we don't know how dark Rashid's skin tone is.  I get the impression that Harry's complexion is olive, if Margaret was fair a mix with Rashid could produce that.

I could see Rashid being somewhere down the line, he defeated the Mad Arab who lived in 700 CE, anyone who has heritage traced back that far in Europe usually has some sort of crossover with the Mediterranean.
