DF Spoilers / Re: Lacuna
« on: October 31, 2021, 04:35:30 PM »
She is currently nearly 2 feet plus in height and is likely taller still following Battle Ground. The more prestige the Little Folk get the larger they get, so Toot, after the show of force in the Castle, the aerial defence and his defeat of Mavra indicates he is now probably 7 foot 2 inches. As Lacuna kept up in size she can probably now play for the WNBA. It’s a good thing that Murphy didn’t survive having the ‘Little Folk’ tower over her.

More serious I suspect Toot and Lacuna may be close to Maggies height in Next Book. It would be fun (but not for Harry) having to deal with a Tween Toot And Lacuna.

A Mastodons tooth isn’t going to cut it, not anymore.

Is Lacuna that big now?  I know that Toot has gotten a lot bigger, but I cannot remember where it says that Lacuna has..

Harry wouldn’t really want to do this, but would do it for the sake of Maggie and that she needs to get used to her new neighbours, and they to them. Remember his neighbours knew Mouse, but not him and Harry needs to rectify this.

Oh I can see the three of them going trick or treating, Harry, Maggie, and Mouse.. They go as a cave man family, Harry the Daddy Caveman, Maggie the Little Girl Caveperson, and Mouse as a Mastodon..  Then I can see Lacuna stealing her candy and pelting Harry with celery for being an irresponsible parent, letting his child have so much sugar.. ::)

Aha! The misnomer about wooden teeth:- from the Wikipedia entry on his teeth
“During his life, Washington had four sets of dentures. He began wearing partial dentures by 1781.[5] Despite many people believing they were made of wood, they contained no wood, and may have been made of teeth extracted from slaves, as well as other materials such as hippopotamus ivory, brass and gold.[6][7][8] The dentures had metal fasteners, springs to force them open, as well as bolts to keep them together.”

Lacuna would love a set of castanets.

Well, the ones I saw claimed to be his and of wood or partial wood anyway.

President Biden has just given the Pope a ceremonial challenge coin.

How long before the Pope mislays it?

What will Nicky do to the person who provides him with a “special coin” from the Vatican when he finds out it isn’t a Blackened Denarius?

Then the drinks are on him... 8)

DF Spoilers / Re: Is there a supermax section on Demonreach?
« on: October 29, 2021, 02:06:17 PM »
Vadderung says if the Old Gods trapped in Demonreach were released it would be the end and that the Bane Fire that would destroy half the continent is designed to destroyed them if they ever did.

So yeah theirs a supermax.

Yeah, and those inmates are so bad, that just dealing with their rap-sheets, does so much damage psychologically to Harry, that he may never get to all of them.  Hmm, I wonder if it was that effect that corrupted Kemmler and eventually made him the evil guy he turned into.

Hades almost certainly has a fine collection of Mayan Tooth jewellery, George Washington’s dentures etc that would be of interest to Lacuna, and from her point of view all Harry brought back was an old knife, a dirty bit of wood, a rag, and some garden waste on his first visit.

Getting in a second time a little bit harder unless Demonreach backs onto another part of Hades domain, and I don’t fancy Toot’s chances as not being a sacrifice.

I don't think she'd be interested in Washington's old wooden dentures.. I saw one of those sets years ago on a trip to Boston..  ;)  Now the teeth that were pulled would be another matter all together and I wouldn't be shocked if they turned up in her collection..  Toot could set up a museum for her, calling it,  "A Collection of Notable Teeth Through History."

yes to Michael's knowledge Harry is the only one to ever resist a fallen's shadow. Harry does remind him that the fallen eliminate the records whenever possible. There is no reason he would be the only one, just as he is likely not the only one to throw off the winter knight.

I always thought that the records were erased to cover up the fact that the Church has a poor record of keeping track of the coins.  I think as far as Harry throwing off the shadow of Lasciel, Michael got that information from a higher angelic source.  That is why Harry got Soul Fire, so even if he isn't the only one who successfully threw off a shadow, I bet it is so rare he just as well be the only one.

Taken unfortunately .....

Doesn't matter, there are several books and movies of the same name and not always the same story.

Well at least until she can have Toot Toot procure her a Godzilla sized tooth to be scrimshawed into her throne as Princess of the Tooth Fairies.

Lacuna has ambitions, and Toot has hopeless love.

What she may be currently is tooth Fairy to the Court of Queen Mab where she undertook the scrimshawing of Lloyd Slates teeth whilst they were in his mouth provides coins to Fairies children who have lost their teeth.

Or they quietly followed Harry down into the vault back in Skin Game and brought back a bag of loot of their own.

Agreed. Which would seem to just support my theory that it's not just corruption but an outright deal.

That is corruption, plain and simple..

Yeah, there have been hints that Marcone had his fingers in the government.  Sadly Chicago has been known for that in it's history.  In The Godfather, it was also one of it's themes.

Well, it is an open secret that Toot's real name is Domino Toot The Hut.. :-X

Eric is a good old Norse name.. My cat's name is Gabby, because she is very vocal and will carry on a conversation.  She was a tiny kitten screaming clinging to the side of a cage at the Animal Shelter, doomed to be put down when I first saw her.  So I took her home for the weekend to extend her life, that was eighteen years ago, and she is still very vocal, though now her meow is a command.
