Ok, now let's discuss world creation and metaphysical ties.... (and have i in fact, missed anything really important?)

Don’t obfuscate this. JB has given up on us. It is what it is. The bs anthologies are nothing more than an (poor) attempt to keep readers happy. Write a novel if you care so much about your fans. I show up to work everyday just like you.No, GRRM gave up on his fans perhaps, Jim took personal time for himself after he managed to get the chain keeping him at his desk unlocked. Don't worry, we'll use thicker chains and bigger locks net time. But i fear with mistreatment like this he'll just stop caring about his fans and those whom simply seem to call themselves fans without bona fides.
I can buy Jim being inspired by the Amber Chronicles, or using some ideas based on them, but there is zero chance that the Dresden Files is literally connected to another series altogether, for the same reasons that the Hulk won't actually show up, even if he has Hercules's mantle.exactamundo.
Dresden, the Cinder Spires, and Alera—the three series Jim actually has intellectual property rights for—maybe, but definitely not something that he doesn't own. Speculation in that direction is a dead end.
You can draw as many parallels as you like, and that's perfectly valid, but Corwin is not going to show up in the Dresden Files any more than Cyclops.
Nah. I see they have a really convoluted time travel theory that isn't consistent across movies. They do have some time travel theories that work within particular movie or some subset of movies. But that really misses the mark. This thread really isn't so much about Time Travel as it is about John Connor's origin being based in it and his birth being targeted because he plays a pivotal role in the defeat of Team Bad's plan.I admit, I cherished mine idea after movie 2 that Skynet was only trying to destroy humanity to kill John Connor, because they copied the chip from the first one to build Skynet. John connor being out of time actually creates the time loop of Skynet's existence(something they hinted at in a different way in Genesis... a shame, cause Genesis could/would have tied all the other timelines together in a 'the Magicians' sort of way). So Skynet exists to destroy John Connor and since they know he will be born into humanity, it target's humanity before he is born/during his life.
That said, I do need to watch the movies, all of them. I've seen the cliffnotes in other writeups and they do show a VERY complicated, contradictory, inconsistent overarching theory but that there does exist some parts of TT theories that attach in different movies.
Which would then make either Harry or Mac the Sun. Probably the sun, because beer gives people that warm feeling. Of course! How could it be anything else!Guess you got this snippy at Eldest Gruff's son of the chief physician when it came out? Go over to Reddit where he still hangs out and make such comments, i'd love to see that.. you can pretty much sling shit back at people for continuingly making the same sort of comments of stubborn refusal to see anything they don't wish to, made worse by the egotistifcal need to rally against it.... You know, hypothetically, over there, were we don't have such fine upstanding people to do such things, no?
Fair point.Have you considered Daniels potential fall into
I still don't want it to be Daniel. Way too linear.
Because it can't just be a car. No, that would be unrealistic and require too many assumptions.Considering it's already been linked as a firebird, yep. I find it likely an incarnation of the Chariots that pull the sun, even if now only metaphorically.
But even with that, he's established that he's lied in his comments. Even direct quotes are now officially questionable.I think it's all a smoke screen made up in the last year or so to keep us off the truth. He's slipped up and mentioned quite a few things and implied hella others in his Wojing over the years... I think he's trying to cover his ass from every direction is all.
I don't think Mac is God because I think he'd be more active in the Denarian story line. It would be very subtle, of course. But he seems more involved with the Sidhe, Outsiders, and Demonreach possibly. That could mean they have orders to stay away too though... God and Lucifer want the Sandbox intact, His 'out' being respected by Denarians even should say WORLDS about his affiliations...
